Just wondering what tactics those of you use to rank low competition keywords on pages of your site. For example, if you had an electronics store, how would you go about ranking a page for a very specific keyword that didn't have a lot of competition?

Thanks

I do that simply with internal linking. A few links with appropriate anchor text and the job is done.

Shouldn't be that hard for low competition keywords:
    - Keyword in title and meta description
    - a couple of internal links
    - social media...tweets, Google+,etc..

Oh! WOW if it is really a low competition niche then do the followng:
    1. First make sure that your website is having no on-page related issues.
    2. Do some few good high pr bookmarking sites bookmark daily
    2. Do some few good web 2.0 blogging and create some quality link with good content

As if low competition and you do proper link building plan with high quality sites your keyword shall rank within few weeks or month probably.

I create content on high PR social sites and blogs. Then I run a backlink campaign from fiverr that creates High PR quality backlinks to my post. Usually I get ranked on the first page in a week or two and I only go after keywords that are proven to convert for me w/ my paid traffic campaigns.

the biggest and easiest method is, create a website and link facebook and twitter and google+ too. you said it is Electronics store, so you must have lots of items to display there. run and offer like" write a comment in facebook" and get this much of offer. you do not need to do any additional seo or do not pay too much attention to it. make sure products and site user experience is unique. and daily update the site and social network website.

The only thing I would add here is to make your on-site content really good. If the competition is really "low" as you have stated, then on-page factors should help you rank fast. That, in addition to the link opinions above and you are all set.

I would get a on-page optimized site for that keyword and create a couple of high PR links to it and that usually gets the job done for me.

For low competitive keywords, create page, do proper on page optimization, leave for few weeks then check where it is ranking..

If it is ranking within 10 pages of Google SERP.. start slow link building, building links on weekly basis would also work.

The same way you rank high competition keywords, but with less effort.

First do good on-page SEO, then send some bookmarks, 3-5 web 2.0s and wait a week a see what happens, if you are still not first create second tier links or create few more 1st tier links

If the low competitive keyword have monthly higher local and global searches, then it will probably get ranking on Google search. However your contents should be unique, link building should be quality base, on page seo should be as per Google' guidelines and the job is done.

It shouldn't be that difficult in ranking on page one of Google for keyword phrases with low competition.

    1. Make sure you have the main keyword phrase in your title tags and main description.

    2. Find a few sites that have a decent PR and allow contextual links in their posting section.

    3. Bookmark all new pages for faster indexing with Google and the main search engines.

    4. Create individual pages with Facebook notes, Google +1 community pages and Pinterest.

After three or four weeks your keyword phrase should be there or thereabouts for the top 10 positions of page one of big G.

Rinse and repeat the process and the sales should come with ease.

Make sure the on page would be perfect. Share those pages on social networking sites and tweet them on regular time with unique title and description. Dont go for general link building activities.

    1. Create quality content that is optimized for that particular keyword. This assumes that you have first checked on the keyword if it is indeed what web surfers look for. The content should be found on your web pages. That is optimizing your web pages for specific keywords or phrases.

    2. Get quality backlinks

These are links anchored with your keywords coming from other related sites pointing to your web pages.

With these factors I believe you will rank high for your keywords on search engines.

Low competition keywords are easy to rank with, you need good internal linking, title in meta description, social bookmarking and directory submissions.
