I think the word "spam" is really kinda opinion based.

For example, I could say that all email from Amazon is "spam" but legally it probably isn't.

If you are doing a post and run method where there is no intention of reading any replies, then that is definitely SPAM in my book.

Posting the same thread in different forums is not a spam. But keep your username same in every forum and do reply, otherwise some one will notice it and will say that it is a copied thread from dot dot dot forum or will report it as spam. BTW, how can i get a free I- Phone? I need one..

If it is not promotional thread but it is a thread related to questions then you can...knowledge is not limited.. you have rights to get answers from different sources.

But it also depends on the forum admin, if they don't allow duplicate content in their forum.
