PR2, no OBL, contextual backlinks

Hey guys i decided to check up on a website i used to visit a lot. The site is from 2002, and still alive. Well, its dead, ie no visitors but its still up and running.

The domain is PR4, but there are many blogs with no out bound links that i can post contextual backlinks on and those pages have a PR of 2.

Are these any good? I mean what i wanted to do was add a contextual back link on each of these blogs but using different anchor text. Thats where my question comes in. Does google give you credit if you have more backlinks from a site? and example

keyword one : PR2 :www.abc.com/blog
keyword two : pr2 : www.abc.com/blog2

two different urls, so will i get twice the benefite seeing as the links are on seperate pages?

Link building is a little more complex than that.

No, you will (probably) not get 2x the benefit as they are from the same root domain.

If they are on the same C-class IP as your target website then don't even bother adding the links as Google will know that you own these websites and the links will not count for much at all.

In terms of passing PR, yes this will work. However high PR doesn't always mean high rankings...

The main thing to focus on when building links is "will this link benefit visitors looking for more information?".

  Thanks for your reply, and nope i don't own the site.The site has been up since i was eleven lol. Even though i wont get 2x the benefit, would i still gain some additional? Or would i be best just to be grateful for the one?
