Goodbye Google Adsense,

After many years and earning top dollar with Google Adsense I'm thinking of saying Goodbye to it for this project. The reason is that the website has become very good, people stay a very long time on it, but they stopped clicking.
Also the advertisements I see on it, are not related anymore to the content. For many weeks it shoes redirect ads from websites that I visit and are not related to the subject itself.

With removing Adsense, I think I can add value to the website and attract advertisers, who want to advertise with similar content. It means I will show much less advertisements (-4,500,000) a month, but I could fill it up with some affiliate banners to start with.

Will the affiliate banners bring more and will it attract the new advertisers, or leave Adsense on it?
#adsense #goodbye #google

You need a much better layout, better adsense integration, and
too many other things to list.

thanks for the feedback, I try to understand what you mean.

You mean I need a better layout so people will click, or do I need a better layout so people will like the website?

      Thanks.

Every adsense implementation guide says that you should put ads in your content. Try experimenting with position of your ads.

That is when you create a MFA website, and what I build is a high quality website. I not want Adsense to rull my website.

Well that's a trade off isn't it? Do you want clicks on adsense? Or people to stay on the site a long time? You'll have to trade one for the other.
Also there is no requirement in the Adsense TOS to put "Advertisement" above the right hand adsense skyscraper (So you can remove that wording), you do however need to move the adsense ads that are sat right next to images (High risk of ban) and incorporate the mandatory requirement to mention the DART DoubleClick (Adsense) Cookie in your privacy policy (Moderate risk of ban). Silly to get a ban for those two points - hope that helps, albeit slightly off topic.

Your site is too cluster for adsense to work except if you don't intend making it your primary or major source of income..

allegandro, I would look at selling advertising space directly rather than modifying the site too fast or too extremely in the short term. A drastic change may alienate your audience which you don't want.

4.5m impressions is very impressive and marketable. Have a look at a service like buysellads.com to start with and see if you get any interest from publishers. You can sell /1000 impressions so CTR won't matter. You can even use Adsense as a backup when you inventory hasn't completely sold. Just have a look at what similar sites are charging and compare to your adsense earnings to see if it's worthwhile..

I wouldn't worry about affiliate banners if you aren't getting clicks for adsense ads. Let other advertisers take the risk and you focus on increasing your audience and working on your marketplace.

Only one ad unit ? You should use three ads units and link units wisely.

You should try 300x250 and 720x90 in addition to 600x160.

Different advertisers use prefer different ads units so competition and cpc is vary with ads size

Implement above will help in increase your income.

Thanks, we are looking to go that way, we even build our own CPM system.

The text above the ad, points to the place where companies can buy direct advertising space. That is why I have it there. About the ads next to the picture, I not worry too much about it, but thanks for mentioning it. The Cookie warning is there.

All sizes are in the website, only the first pages as just 1, most other pages have 2 or even 3.

So if you already have an e-commerce built in what are you doing giving your clicks away by cents via adsense?

If you are working very hard for your traffic, you are letting it go to some other sales funned with those adsense, work on your own sales process via e commerce, the value per visitor is bigger on the e-commerce side even the rewards may look faster in the adsense side

Thanks, you hit a very good point there, why giving away a 0,10$ click if a sale commission brings me up 100$ a sale.

In your Adsense account, you have option to allow or disallow ads on your site, you can use that option to show relevant ads, and it would be good for earning too.

I like that idea, but it has one problem, if I block an advert, it is blocked for all other websites as well.

Why not try some MaxBounty CPA offers?

I remember I had one little blog in particular that never drew any money with adsense..

I threw some MaxBounty banners on the domain and made some easy CPA money.

I've seen people argue on which is better... Adsense banners vs. CPA banners but in my honest opinion each case is different.

The best thing to do is split test your banners to see which ones work the best.

    :]

So, there's only one more thing for you to do.. Right?

    Test.
