I got an email from Godaddy about some promotion and clicked on it and right there on their website they have an offer for .com domains for $0.99, so I thought I would give an alert for anyone who might need one.

Their offer is as follows:
Start Your Big Idea With A New .COM For $0.99*!

Plus ICANN fee of $0.18 per domain name per year for .COMs. Applies to the first year only of one new registration per customer. Offer valid for new customers only. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, sale, discount or promotion. Customers may not use gift cards, CCAvenue, PayPal® or AliPay to redeem this offer. Offer valid for residents of the U.S. and Canada only. Offer expires after 10,000 redemptions or at 11:59 PM (Mountain Time) on August 31, 2013 or at Go Daddy's discretion (whichever comes first). Go Daddy reserves the right to deny use of this offer and/or cancel domains purchased using this offer if the offer is abused or used fraudulently, as determined by Go Daddy in its sole discretion.

Hopefully WF will not delete this

It seems it only works if you click through from that link they emailed.
When I went direct to GoDaddy.com, it was listed as $9.99.

    BUT this worked ...
Search on Google - "godaddy cheap domain"

Look for their AdWords ad that lists domain as $0.99.
They have campaigns running with that promotion but it seems to only work when you find that ad and click through it. It worked for me, and I'm an existing member so I guess it's not only for new members only.

The offer you mentioned by searching on Google, is that for US and Canada only or would it work worldwide?

I think the offer is for first year only and regular fee will be applied for the consecutive years.

yeah seriously. Godaddy can be frustrating to work with as they're always trying to convince you to upgrade or purchase something else.
