Hello, I was hoping I could get some help from someone experienced in the field of analyzing competitors backlinks. I found someone ranking youtube videos for competitive terms, with basically just views and backlinks.

From everything that I have read about youtube seo, he shouldn't be ranking there... he only has 1 video, no likes, no comments, short description etc, no on page optimization, no social signals....

This leads me to believe all the guides that keep coming out are leading us in the wrong direction... they are great if you are going completely whitehat, but there are better methods to rank that our competition is taking advantage of. Most of this guys videos/accounts have been alive over 6 months!

I would like to do some analysis on this guys videos, I have found he has many accounts, each ranking for a competitive affiliate word... While my target is not affiliate marketing, I believe his strategies could be used in every type of marketing...

If you are good at competitive analysis, please post here, and I will send you a few of his successful campaigns, and together, we can analyze them and see if we can recreate his method.

Happy to take a look. Did a video review of one like this the other day for a colleague.

if you want, I could take a look. It may be possible that the backlinks came from highPR/authority websites

Why can't you just drop the URL into www.ahrefs.com (get a free account) and see what he is doing yourself?

I have been checking, but I am no expert in figuring out what type of links he is using... i.e. I have no idea how to analyze 50k links, whether 500 links a day means 500 total submitted, 500 live, or just 500 that have been indexed.... I don't know much about SEO analysis.

In addition, I am not sure how accurate ahrefs is... For example, I checked one video, and it shows over 50k backlinks, while on majesticseo it shows over 80k! Who do I go by?

Also, I have other questions, such as... if I get a fiverr for 50k live links, will all the links be indexed, or are some sure to die beforehand? How do I drip index them? etc...

If it was that easy and I knew exactly what I was doing, I wouldn't be asking for help!

500 links a day is what Ahrefs has found. You can do Google searches for "www.URL.com" and by limiting the results by time frames you can find out what Google has indexed (but not crawled) over that time frame.

No tool, is that accurate and each one will give you a different picture of what is going on.

You will have to determine what types of links they are building to the videos above. Some or all of these back link targets might not be able to be built with commercial software and/or their stock foot prints. You might need someone to whip something up to hit these targets if they aren't supported.

If they are supported out of the box, you might to be able to the links off of Fiverr, depending on the types of links you want to replicate (identified in your SEO analysis above), I would be surprised if they were all indexed without any additional help.

Accordingly, you will need to do something to index them, e.g., build tier 2 backlinks to them and/or send them to indexing services.

Most people who know how to do this stuff don't like sharing, because it just creates more competitors.

      Good luck.

I find ahrefs to be inaccurate and difficult to use at times. Rather than wasting your energy thinking about how this guy is ranking his videos, spend the time building links etc to yours.

Why post random links, when I can find a type of backlink strategy that is successfully working time and time again?

If I can get the basic strategy down that he is using, I can try to do something similar... But I will need to probably learn a new software (either senuke, demon, sbox, xrumer, etc)... and I need to know the link types before this!
