damn the gooogle bounce.

1 week old site jumped to the first page of google for 7 different keyword phrases and today nada.

  • I'm afraid it's all too common.

    But then if you think about it. Why would a 7 day old site "deserve" to stay in the rankings?

    Age and authority are big players nowadays. Just keep going.

      You made it once, no reason why it can't make it back
      and be sustainable. Some of us never get even that
      far. So congrats on that 'bounce.'

    • Agreed. No need to get worked up over it, quality is starting to rule... slowly but surely. Those that are genuine and provide good shit will get the rankings.

      Also note, search is starting to become more REAL time. Think Twitter search. Everything will be divided into 2 aspects when you search... 1 part will be the "live feed" where people will know whats happening around the web at that instant for the keyword they searched.

      The second aspect is going to be a more advanced version of search we have today... with age, quality, and relevance topping the charts. The game is changing dude. Keep up!
  • I agree with Kay. Furthermore, once your site is established you will probably see the the wisdom in allowing it to be at the top of the pile, and will resent the practice of allowing it to be temporarily displaced by newcomers. You can't have it all ways.
  • Oh well, just like they say - no pain, no gain (although one of my acquaintances rather prefers the no brain, no pain paraphrase ). SEO is all about constant improvement and biding your time, if you will. A new site cannot rank simply because it's new. Now imagine what the owners of well-established and reputable sites feel if they get slapped by some chance.
