How do you assess any penalty in SERP after being offline 15 days?

I had a problem with my wordpress site bastabollette.it after updating nameservers (the domain provider did not accept the new nameservers given by my hosting provider informing me only after 15 days).
My site went offline for 15 days.
After putting back online the domain I had to renew the permalinks of wordpress, because the old ones were not working anymore (I do not know why).

Now, how do I assess the damage in terms of SERP (before the offline period the site was well positioned with certain keywords) and what do you suggest me to do to recover old SERP?
thanks

  • Wait for a few days. Ping google, make the site your signature in popular forums and submit posts to Digg and other social bookmarking sites. You should get the SERPs back

    • This is not true, what you need to do is site:bastabollette.it and see if all the pages that were indexed are taking you to your new site, verify that you did not loose any pages on the change, on those 15 days some pages may be crawled and if Google did not find them that will hurt you.

You should have installed Google Webmaster Tools and there you will see if in the last 15 days you have had any 404 errors or maybe some 500 errors, that will tell you what urls are having problems
  • thank you.
by "ping google" you mean submitting the link through webmaster tools?

Your site being down is not a Google penalty, it's a host problem.

If the site was already ranked before the nameserver issue, get the site back online & wait & see what Google does. Posting new content/pages won't hurt, just don't do anything drastic (ex: removing links, messing with URLs, etc...).
  • There is option in google webmaster tools to ask google to index your homepage and all linked pages you can give that a try once your website is online
