Page rank and Press releases query

How much importance do you put on your sites Page Rank. I cant seem to get mine past 1 even though I have 1300 pages indexed (its a forum).

Would doing a few press releases help? On my other site it went to PR3 and all I did was press releases.

What is the best cheapest effective Press release service?

For my site all I did was blog commenting to raise the PR from 0 to 2. I don't think pr has a big importance for making a forum earn or rank

Press release definitely helps, but we should ignore Press release from a linking standpoint.

Well Its good to have some page rank as It increases your search traffic. But If you want more targeted traffic then you would love to ranking for your targeted keywords. To acquire a good PR,press release isn't just enough as you would love to mix it up with other well recognized techniques like guest blogging or article marketing.

There are a number of free press release sites you can try.Just Google for them.
