I made a website for my nephew, for a school project a while ago and found it to rank high and drive lots of traffic. I done this just for fun.

It makes $173 / £111 per month on average with AdSense.

I decided to put the website up for sale on flippa and after 1 day it has had -

  • 74 listing views
  • 14 listing watchers
  • Current Top bid of $100
I have a reserve at $600 because I have been told that sites are worth between 4-12 times there monthly value.

If you were me and wanted to squeeze every little bit of $$$ out of this how would you tackle the reserve price??

I would like to get the site into the most active category too.

It's the first time I have sold a website on flippa, so take it easy on me lol.

The site has had some natural links built as well as some I done myself.

    yes , it's worth of 12x of your monthly income. If I were you, I will never sell this at 1x of the monthly income. At least, 8 - 10x monthly income.

    Why are you selling? I'd just keep it and enjoy the extra $173 per month. Unless it requires a lot of work to maintain that level or something.

      I see what you mean.

      The site is on autopilot with adsense and takes no work at all.

      Its a passive income, if someone wanted it to make more with it, it wouldn't be hard.

        Just as an opinion, if it is not bothering you or taking your time then you should postpone the idea of selling it now. Enjoy the passive income.

          Yeah it would be great for "very long term" but I have a new project which will be generating much more once I get it rolling. If I could sell this site a a good few bob, I could then use the money to speed up the process of my new one.

          I could do more work on it and get more traffic to it if I really wanted but I'm going after bigger fish now.

    If I were you, I'd never sell any site that gives profit. ($173 have a good value)

      Yeah very true, if the site doesn't sell for a high price, I will just keep it, get some more content and drive more traffic and increase the earnings and let it roll on from there.

      I could do with a bit extra $$$$ for my new project, that's the main reason I'm selling it.
