Hello, thank you for looking.

I cater to a small niche market, and all I need to do to get good ranking is get some backlinks and make sure my page is clean.

But something has come up and Ime not sure how to react to it.

I want to create a page that deals with subect a) and subject b)

Logicaly subject a) must come first at the top half of the page and will contain subject a)'s keywords.

But it is subject b) that I want to rank for, so that will occupy the bottom half of the page and contain subject b)'s keywords.

Can anyone see a problem with this?

Thank you.

Richard

Put Subject B in the Title and Description, and maybe put an anchor at the top of the page with the keywords in it that scrolls down to subject B.

You may also want to put subject B's keywords in the name of the .php file.

The placement of the keywords within the content (whether they're at the top or bottom) doesn't matter. Just have the keywords there somewhere, and make sure they're in the page title as well.

Then all you need are some super-high powered backlinks and you're good to go....see my sig link for those

Actually Google places more importance on keywords at the top of a document. If you had lets say a H2 with keywords at the top, an additional H2 halve way down the page or at the bottom is seen as less important.

This is the best advice. ↑

When you start trying to point the search engine around your website, instead of the customers, you might need to rethink your actions.

Customers that come in on the keywords of an article somewhere down the page, might be disappointed when they are first greeted with the article they were not looking for. Causing a bounce, a new Google search, and a vote against your relevance.

Maybe you should just have two separate pages, you can always link between them if you wanted.

  • Place keyword A in the location where it will most benefit the readers of the post.

Once that's completed, take keyword B and place it in a location exactly opposite of where it will be the least helpful (AKA, where it will be most helpful to the readers).

Once you've done that, you have your keyword optimization perfectly planned.

Treat Subject A and B as keywords... since you have only two keywords so you can add two more keywords related Subject A and B, if you want.. and write content for both subject A and B and it should look natural...
