My thoughts on link building

I believe what type of links you build is in direct correlation with how much you care about your site(s). If your in it for the money and you could really careless about your sites because you have many more than you will most likely build spammy links, from software or even Fiverr gigs if your that foolish.


On the other hand, if you care about your site, if your site is based on a topic/niche that you love than your links will be of a higher quality.

Why?

Because unless you care about your site you won't take the time out to promote it, email other webmasters in your niche about guess posting, you won't set a budget on FB ads or Adwords etc. Basically there is a lot of things that can make a site successful, but if you don't care, than why would you do those things.


Most here are in it for the money, you don't care about your visitors or creating a site that will add value to the net. I believe this is one of the major reasons that a lot of us fail.

My advice, chill with with all the I have 50 sites, one of them gotta work out. Commit to just one site and do everything humanly possible to make that site work.

    I'd say that if you're in it for the money, the more you should care about your readers. Because money comes from them, anyway. If you got them convinced with your engaging and interesting articles or blog posts, they'll most likely "buy" what you're call-to-action statement is telling/recommending them to do.

    Following this routine will keep your website ranked for years to come, you will become an authority in your niche following this plan, impress your visitors and provide them with new and relevant information!

  • What does the feeling behind a site have to do with making money? Why should I promote a niche site that sells radios to my friends list on social media or promote it on twitter when they may not find it that entertaining. The posts can be detailed but just because they aren't shared does not imply that they are not worth it
  • I agree, it's better to focus on creating one flagship authority site than dozens of mini sites that swing wildly up and down after each tiny algo tweak.
  • That is the whole idea behind Googles algorithm and also where they will most likely be heading in the future.

    Your links should be built from credible and specific sources to your website.

    In my opinion people should stop caring as much about high PR and nofollow links and concentrate on links which are built to help other people with their quest for information.

    As a side effect you are creating high quality natural links from topical websites - exactly what Google cares about most.

    • To the OP what you've said makes a lot of sense but is not always true in every case. Some people have tried out all the "white hat" methods and found that they take an incredible amount of time and if not done exactly right then you get no boost in rankings. Take guest posting for example you try to reach out to some blogs in your niche only to find out they want a 1000 essay with graphics and then they no-follow your link later. Or you try AdWords only to find out that Google just wants to give you the run around because your site promotes affiliate offers. I get tired of the "create great content and everything will fall into place" crowd. If it were that easy there wouldn't be SEO companies getting paid thousands of dollars to optimize sites and build links.
  • Link building should be done regularly with proper thinking and application. Make tiers and then control your link process.
