If you're an affiliate, can you just rank a site that redirects to your hoplink in google?

Let's say you make a website with decent content that ranks in google, can you then just make it so that any clicks will go straight to your hoplink with a 301/302 redirect?

Would google penalise a site that does this or how would it work?

Thanks.

It would be a doorway page and just in few minutes/days you'll be gone from Google.

Really, so google won't treat is as a normal redirect for a new site or something like that?

then it will show the hopelink as the search result along with the original site title and description.... (Assuming your SEO is better than the vendor for the particular keywords..)

Same thing happened in Goolge as well but i cannot seem to find it now
