Hi Warriors,

I own the Market Samuria but read somewhere that the advanced SEO competition analysis is not very accurate, based on showing links that might not even be live anymore. I sometimes use https://ahrefs.com/ to check how many social signals and links a website has, would be awesome to hear how any of you Warriors implement the research please.

  • I just use Market Samurai. Even if it isn't perfect, it is good enough for what I need.

Can I ask please which of the sections you focus on mostly? I'm talking about the: RDD, RDP, BLP, BLD, etc....

Market Samurai is totally useless for judging competition.

You need a better backlink checker to analyze the links.

On top of that, you should analyze the top 3 sites themselves. Look at internal link structure, content, etc.

Thanks Mike I have been hearing that about the MS to be honest, do you think it's worth investing into the premium version for the LTP to get the SEO competition results feature? however then your just relying on a tool without any sign of the numbers. I think it just spits back some numbers at says medium/high I'm not 100% sure.

I simply look at the page title, description, url & number of backlinks to the page. I use Majestic SEO to check the backlinks. It's a pretty reliable system for checking competition, but nothing's 100% accurate, thats why I try to target at least 10 keywords for every niche, I usually rank at least 3-4 out of every group.
