Amazon/SEO - How to find future buyers

Here's a tip for all you Amazon folks & how to get future buyers, buyers that don't even know they want to buy (yet).

I was researching a keyword & noticed Wikipedia shows future dates of movies. When there's a popular movie, there's always buyers (DVD, toys, clothes, etc...).

I'll use Pixar as an example, here's a list of future Pixar movies & the release dates:
  • The Good Dinosaur - May 30, 2014
  • Inside Out - June 19, 2015
  • Finding Dory - November 25, 2015

Now take that info (movie name) & do the research to get some basic movie description text on the sales page/s, build your links, get the page ranked for basic keywords, example:
  • The Good Dinosaur DVD
  • The Good Dinosaur toys
  • The Good Dinosaur t-shirt
  • etc...

Related Wikipedia page.

To get an idea of future buyer keywords take older existing Pixar movie titles (example) & do keyword research, only switch out the old movie title with the new movie title/s for your own live web pages.

Rank the pages & move on to the next keyword. Keep in mind you still need to rank the pages as If competition exist, otherwise your ranked page will be short lived once the movie is released & everyone starts targeting the same keywords.

In the Pixar example, that gives you a 1-2 year head start on establishing backlinks.

I love your exuberance, Yukon, and the way you like to add value, but you know as well as I do that these kinds of markets are both fleeting and ultimately a waste of time.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of time, someone will eventually monetize those movies (niche example).

Really it's no different than the iphone or Playstation, I'm sure a lot of EMDs are already sold out for both niches, iphone 6 & Playstation 4.

        Yukon,

If I remember right from your previous posts, you recommend using Amazon's affiliate program, which is how I would monetize these sites. Amazon's program, I think, prohibits using brand/trademarked names in Website titles. What would your domain and title be (not post titles) for these types of sites?

Thanks for all your useful posts!

  • I think this is a great idea. Yes, DPM70, the markets aren't going to last forever, but if you can get 3-6 months of good sales out of each one, you can make some great money. In addition, you'll still get occasional sales for years after the fact.

If you happen to get lucky on a movie that gets REALLY popular, it can earn you income for years. I'm sure if you rank well for keywords like "Finding Nemo on DVD" and others, you're still making money today even though the movie came out years ago.

Great tip OP, thanks for sharing!
