Made For Adsense Sites : The Death of an Outdated Business Model ?

Really maybe my question should be was it really ever a legitimate business model in of itself ?

Many people have and still do proclaim it as a wonderful way to make a living .

I personally, know of numerous huge sites/blogs that still rely on Adsense and Adsense alone for their total income.

Prudent ?? I do not think so.

I have always loved Adsense from the very beginning. It is the simplest and easiest way to start putting some change in your pocket when first starting out in IM.

I remember quite a few Warriors 3 or 4 years ago who sold WSOs on how to build an Adsense Empire and business.

A couple of these so called 'Adsense Gurus' had hundreds of these MFA sites. I remember one had over a 1,000 sites.

There were also numerous threads started here at Warrior which served as journals for people trying to build MFA sites and how they progressed over a period of time.

Many were doing good back in the day. Really good !

I must admit at the time I was interested in this and possibly making money from doing it. But through time and experience I came to my senses and realized it was just excess garbage on the Web.

I am just wondering with Google's constant updates in their Algos and their ever scrutinizing eye over Adsense accounts how these Adense Gurus are doing today ??

What do you think ?

BTW, I still think Adsense is ONE awesome way to monetize a Site.

But because of the nature of Adsense ( and the Internet) trying to make it a full time business with no other diversity will more than likely be futile for most anyone !

Just my 2 cents.

What do you all think ?

Like you said, it's ONE way to monetize a site.

Adsense is great, and very easy to get started, but relying entirely on it is a recipe for disaster.

I don't think that mentality is exclusive to adsense either, if your only doing one thing to monetize you're a single update away from losing your business. It's important to diversify your avenues of income. Adsense can be one of those avenues, but should not be your only one if you want a secure foundation.

Still growing strong if your providing value.

People think micro niche and small page sites are being hit, there not!

Google targeted spammy made for adsense sites. not the real true informational providing micro niche sites that are not just spun or poor English written.

There going strong and will carry on going strong.

I think adsense still makes us money but we have to have quality traffic. High traffic blogs still make a decent amount of money with adsense

Don't put all your eggs in one basket - micro-niche for AdSense is fine, but if that's all you do, you need to have a healthy bank balance if more changes come along and turn the tide against you.

Scaremonger! Google changes came and gone, not one site of mine had a hit. I have 30+ micro niche sites and still don't have a problem to this day.

That's because I provide quality and not crap!

        Hey flip,
Thanks for joining the discussion here. Let me ask you something. Are these micro niche sites MFA sites? Or do you have varying forms of Monetization ??

Because to me that is the big issue. Many big Adsense Site Gurus put up Sites that did not really have great content. Mainly because they wanted people to get bored and click out with an Adsense Ad.

Its kind of a catch 22 isn't it ? That is with MFA sites.

You want to have new Organic traffic coming everyday but to do that according to the powers to be you should have compelling content along with quality backlinks.

But then if you have such good content your traffic will forget about Clicking out and stay on your Site.

        Thus reducing your Adsense income.

        Am I wrong ??

That's just something some IMer dreamed up to sell an IM product/ebook.

Back when Feedburner allowed Adsense inside of emails my email list didn't have a problem clicking my Adsense ads. I know for a fact return traffic will click Adsense ads If those ads are something the traffic finds interesting enough to click.

Anyone that can't retain traffic is losing money. IMO starting over at zero traffic every single day would have to suck, I wouldn't want a site like that.

It was fun till 2008... from then it's just:

    2 cents
    .

So many stuff changed... Google changed, users know realize those are ads, competition is huge... I mean, people could make more money with a hot-dog car then with Adsense these days.

Just my 4,5 cents from my last Adsense click.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.
