Low Competition and High Traffic (not porn) -- SEO

Hey guys & gals,

It's kind of a spur of the moment thing but I was doing some brainstorming for a new website idea and got some ideas done. Did some keyword research and came across some (seemingly) great keywords in terms of high traffic and very low competition. Don't worry this isn't a porn, drug, or an illegal site. I was using Adwords keyword tool to look-up these keyword statistics.

I've looked up the keywords on Google in quotes and the results quickly become irrelevant which leads me to believe that I could get on top of search results quickly.

I know you gotta get high-quality links, great on-page SEO and content, but I'm wondering about how I should organize the site to target keywords.

At the moment I have 6 keywords in mind. Should I have a particular page for each keyword? They are related but could be separated by a page. In terms of SEO does it matter if a page is specific to 1 keyword?

------------------------------------------------------
If the SEO is done right (and if my keyword research is correct) then I should be placing number one in a short amount of time; however the domain is new.

All in all I want to know if anyone has specific experiences with building a website that they thought was going to be a hit. Is there anything I should watch out for? Is there something I'm forgetting about?

Millions in monthly traffic to keywords...probably a total of .15 in competition of you add up all the competition from Adwords. Is the keyword tool on Adwords good?

Okay...thanks in advance folks.

You could go with separate pages or even go with less pages and add H1 tags. You sound like you are on to something, were you looking specifically for it or did you just happen upon it?

Yea I have laid out a plan for the website it's going to contain a blog, store, and free membership options to see better things/have more access. I was kind of looking for it but was also surprised to see the keyword results. Is Adwords keyword tools accurate?

Just do not depend on low competition and high numbers on the keywords tool.

Look out for inurl on Google, in title, check the average page rank of the websites which are competing with you.

Make sure that these values are also low.

Create different pages for different kwyords. Use lot of LSI keywords and meta tags, title, description.

    Use the heading tags properly.

creating a different page for every keyword may not be such a great idea. The posts alone would be fine. If you can get some links to your site with those keywords then it would probably be enough to rank your site on the top.
Google keyword tool is accurate but if you want to be sure you can also check the competition on Long tail pro.

You can not determine competition by searching in quotes. Google now seeks for relevancy when ranking a page. The page might not have that particular combination of keywords you are searching in quotes. Maybe you can beat the site in quoted version of the keyword. But if that page is relevant, you can't beat them easily for the without quotes keyword. Remember, everyone searches google without quotes. So, judge the keyword again Just my two cents.

In order to answer your question, I should ask you if those keywords REALLY have something in common. It's of course much profitable and better for your website if you have a DIFFERENT page for DIFFERENT keywords, but this takes a lot of time... (and this optimization for EVERY page...)

Well, I knew it wasn't porn when you said low competition and high traffic. That does not happen in that industry. LOL But, I agree with tcrews... If you want to see what is really ranking for your keyword then try it without quotes as I don't know many folks that put quotes in to search for something when looking for anything online. Just my .02.

If a high ranking website has your keywords in their content even if its not their main topic (not their <h1></h1>) they will still out rank you because your domain is new. Having low competition in a keyword is not the only factor in SEO, for example if you search in google adword "What is Android" you'll see that it has low competition but if you make a blog post entitled "What is Android" and publish it, most probably other high rank website will still out rank you even if they only mention a word "android" in their articles

Adwords keyword tool is fairly accurate but don't go by broad searches, use exact search results. And then manually check the level of competition in the top 10 google results.

    Hold up...Stop everything.

    How do you evaluate competition?

If your looking at adwords comp and it says low comp. That's not SEO comp. Also if adwords says low comp. It's a good indication of "No Profit".

And for the sake of Jebus and sanity sake. Don't have a sig about "Rankright -- We help rank your website right".
Then ask some very basic SEO questions. Kinda makes you look a bit foolish (Catfish)

If your are using wordpress. make an individual page, category, and tag for each keyword. find 10-15 LSI keywords and use these as tags as well mix them up for each individual page. Have a top navigation bar with the main keywords as the page titles, and on the sidebar have a categories menu so the links appear again for each page, and tag cloud these are just widgets, if you don't already know.

The reason I would suggest structuring your site this way is that now you have two different ways for search engines to index your pages faster and with the tag cloud it gives search engines a fast outline of what your entire site is about so it can be categorized quicker getting rankings faster.

So yes create an individual page for each keyword as well as category, if you really want to get crazy you can also create a category for each of your LSI keywords too. Make sure to interlink all these pages to eachother with contextual linking using main keywords and LSI keywords as anchor text.

      Hope this helps

Different keywords can be targeted on same page, only if they have synonym meanings..... otherwise it would be good if you create page for each keyword.
