using "link:" query in google

Why is it that when I try to use "link:" to check if google detects any backlinks for my website it doesn't return any results but if I use other online tools available in the web they can detect that I have 150 backlinks.

    Don't use that search operator, it's pretty much random results If it even works at all. Use WMT, ahrefs, or seospyglass.
  • I didn't even know the link: search operator still works.

    Anyways, as yukon mentioned, use backlink checking tools. It will make your life 50x easier and with Excel, maybe 100x.

  • Your query have So based on your query you want to see backlinks to your own website for this you can goto google webmaster tool and can get list of all of your google found backlinks from there for FREE
