State of the PPC?

Hi gents,

I am not exactly a newbie to SEO but I am not experienced at all with PPC campaigns. I understand that the ROI for PPC advertisement has fluctuated over time-- for a while it was good, then it was bad, then Adsense came along and people were making money with that, then it was bad again.

What is the score right around now for niche products? Is there any substantial difference in ROI between different PPC providers?

Thanks for any help to someone who isn't quite as clued in as yourselves.

[I will be sending traffic to a couple of long-form sales pages.]

  • Ubik,

I’m not sure what trend you are referring to but ROI on PPC is directly related to how well you run the campaign as well as how your sales copy and website architecture looks. I’m sure there are a lot of people that don’t make money using PPC and just as many others that do.

Currently you can make money off of PPC but you have to have a product or service that lends itself well to online conversions and you must have streamlined conversion funnel. It also depends on what PPC you are using. Obviously you are going to get much better results from mainstream PPC providers like Google, Bing, 7Search, etc.

    Best,

    Shawn

    • I am pretty confident that I have some good headlines for the product and the target demographic. Whether it sells or not is another question.

Can you talk about what you mean by "streamlined conversion funnel?" I have some idea of what I think you mean (I have experience in the adult industry) but what does it mean to you?

      Can you expand on that?
