What is a good way to build links on an average week?

I usually have around 8 hours a week that I try to do something useful for my websites SEO.

My niche is Gardening/ Weeds.

At the moment, I do the following:

1) I Create 1x Blog Post on a related topic every 2 weeks.
Every other week, I post these to different blog platforms, for example:
Week 1:Technorati.
Week 2: Ezine.
Week 3: My PR4 Webeden website.

2) I try to write a comment on a related websites blog, with a link back through my name.

3) I try to sign up to one directory in the UK, in my area preferably.

I know this is pretty weak, so can you help me improve this please or suggest things I can do on an average week? I'm not entirely sure what a social bookmark is, so I don't currently do that.

Slowly but surely you are getting there, but you should look into social signals aswell. Facebok, twitter gplus etc. I know facebook is quite good for people on a low time budget, as you could spend one day scheduling facebook posts for the next month, 1 a day etc. Each post only has to be one or two sentences per post witha link to your blog.

  • I'd recommend learning about social media marketing as well.

Also, look into guest blogging and other syndication options.

Social media is always good to know but for me its not a priority. I use various of different methods for clients depending on there websites and what their goal.

Most powerful strategy for me would have a fully optimized website with high quality backlinks.

This is all great work, but you should also try Guest Blogging on top blogs in your niche.

I gave a guideline in a previous post on how to Guest Post here it is:

Well to begin with it depends on your approach.
You should have a brief message. That includes:
    - Your Name
    - Your Blogs URL
    - Compliment their Establishment
    - Title of Your Article(The article you want to Guest Post)
    - What it is about? (100 word summary)
    - Sign Off

These Guest Blogs are going to get 10's or 100's of proposals everyday, make sure your proposal stands out.

By the way this is a basic format that has helped my Guest Post on PR 1 to 7 websites.

Any tips on finding blogs that allow guest posts?
