Hello guys, I knew for the diversification of the backlinks, I should post some nofollow links in my seo job, but I got a question that what proportion of the dofollow links and nofollow links should be?

Any kindly friend could tell me?

Some idiot is going to tell you that you should have anywhere from 25-50% nofollow links.

In reality, Google has said that about 1-3% of all the links they crawl have the nofollow attribute on them.

In other words, I wouldn't bother chasing nofollow links.

I think 50-70% do follow and rest nofollow shall be too fine. There is no actually any specific %
Even when i build links i dont care its dofollow or nofollow as you get both so just keep building quality links and you will eventually get both automatically

ROTFLMAO! I was just mentioning guru's....

How about 100% without the nofollow? Who in their right mind chases
nofollow links, except for perhaps FB, twitter, wikipedia,....but those
are not really SEO links and are not in the same mix as a "nofollow" link
      in this regard.

Why would google like to see any nofollow links? So they can mark YOU
      as a spammer???????!!!!!!

There was a time when I was very new in the industry with very little knowledge I use to believe no-follow links do matter and use to advise the same to others.. However now that I am experienced I can confirm you, not even 1% of no-follow links do matter.

Keep all 100% and you should be fine. Don't waste your time and energy over no-follow.

For outbound linking from your own site, the only reason to use the nofollow tag at all is if you allow third party content to be posted to a domain you control (ie; blog comments, forums, etc.). If you are in full control of your site, don't use nofollow at all, you're just telling Google you understand the difference and that there are sites you DO want to pass PageRank to. Give Google as little information as possible about your knowledge of SEO.

For inbound links, there is no point at all in actively trying to get nofollow backlinks.

Exactly. How many people even know about, let alone understand, what nofollow is for? I don't think Google is expecting many small to mid-size sites to implement that attribute, unless something, like a WordPress plugin, uses it.

Paul and Mike its almost pointless. People just believe what they want to believe and in IM there are a whole lot of people that want to believe their nofollow links are important (because its the easiest liks they CAN get).

If you don't nofollow 87% of your links, your not even trying.

I wouldnt worry about getting no follow links. While I think they do provide some value and may help your link profile look more natural if you get a manual review, the average webmaster has no idea what nofollow is.

Hi Guys, I don't think that there is any exact parameter of backlinks ratios. you just have to get more dofollow links in comparison of nofollow links.

I have been checking my ahrefs stats against competitors who rank more highly with them than my site. A number of my competitors have far worse stats than mine except for one variable - the proportion of dofollow to nofollow links i.e. my proportion is very on the side of nofollow. This is down to one particularly prolific news site which for a long time had a nofollow link on it's homepage to my homepage. I have now asked them to remove this link so that hopefully all the nofollow links with them will eventually slip off the radar and my proportion of dofollow to nofollow will improve dramatically.
