Hi,

I was wondering if Google caches my content, does it considerate to be high quality and unique or does it cache low quality/spun content as well, that can actually hurt your rankings?

Thanks in advance,
Seamy

  • Seamy,

Google caches all content. You know you have a quality one in their eyes if your content rank high.

  • Google caches most content, so no it is not rating you more highly than anyone else unfortunately.

  • Google does not cache all content or even most content. Just some content.

    • The google cache means neither ranking nor quality.

High ranking content can be garbage.

    • I don't get your post... If you ping a website, Google caches ALL pages, so ALL content. If Google doesn't cache a page, the content is also not cached... But he is talking about his article, so if he pings it, Google will visit his article page, so for sure it would be cached!

The Google Cache is a snapshot of a web page, has nothing to do with the text on that web page. I've seen 100% flash pages get cached & the Cache (text version) shows a blank page, which is exactly what Google is seeing (blank page). Not trying to flame flash because there are ways to use flash & make it SEO friendly. My point is, Google could care less about the quality of the text on the cache page, or in the flash example, If text even exist.

Keep in mind there's 2 different types of Google Cache, the full cache (useless for SEO) & the text cache (very useful for SEO).

  • Yes it is right Google caches all the pages which are allowed in robots file of that website and it also crawls all the content of that website but that doesnot mean that your content will be considered as quality content by google.
The content which is very informative for users and is not meant only for marketing or promotions then that content is known as a quality content for google. As Google says Write content for users and not for Search Engines.
