Expired tumblr question

So I've got around 50 expired tumblr blogs, all between PR1-5.

What's the best way to use them?

Lets say I use a PR5 site to just post a plain backlink to my moneysite with my main KW as anchor text. No more content. What effects would it have?

How important is the name of the blog? The subdomain that is.. Could I help boosting any niche with any name?

Check the PA of these blogs.
Post content on these blogs (which have the PA higher than 10) and use contextual backlinks to your moneysite.

You will benefit if you add content to them and link to your site inline.

Well most of them have decent backlinking still, may drop a rank perhaps..

But why is the content important? Why won't a single simple backlink still work?

    And what is PA?

The content is important because of the way tumblr works

Most of the links etc will be coming from other tumblr blogs that have re-blogged/liked posts on the blog - Now that the posts have gone then this means the links have too -

I remember when many users used to sell expired tumblr blogs with PR - users were under the impression they were getting a great deal but that wasn't the case.

But most of the backlinks are to the domain

Why is the content together with the link that important?

What happend if I just put a plain link to my money site?

      PA = Page Authority.

You can check your Tumblr Blogs Page Authority by visiting this link: Page Authority Checker

If you have blogs with PA over 5, then i suggest you to get some original content on these blogs with a link to your site. Then ping the articles.

PA means Page Authority according to the OpensiteExplorer. More PA is always better :-)

What do you mean by "expired"? you mean you can't access the tumblr dashboard?

    or

Do you mean you moved the content to your own domain with a tumblr theme and what it was left is the "expired" tumblr?

    or

Do you mean that you transfered everything to a domain that is "expired"? because each one of this cases are different.

If you really want to get help you should answer the question, you have register expired what?? "expired" domains? because if that is the case you need to know if the PR of the domain is legit, if the domain has not been penalized, how long ago has been "expired", did you change hosting companies? all those details matter when you are talking about expired domains.

        NOW

There is nothing like "expired" tumblrs, tumblrs are active, inactive or banned, if you have an active tumblr with PR 5 on the main page you cand send the link juice to the money making page, it they are inactive or banned there is notheing you can do.

If you have an active Tumblr with PR5 and you want to send it to an expired domain, you will need to do a 301 redirection, and make sure that even the tumblr and archive pages are redirected, sometimes those are the pages that have the PR and the automatic scripts dont take them into account when making the re direction

For the same reason OP question makes no sense, because he read it somewhere, he combined those words with a bunch of other "related" terms he read in another forum and is posting it here to increase his post count

What the OP means by expired domains is that he has a bunch of tumblr blogs that have PR on them with 0 content.

These have either been bought or have been scraped and then created.

          Let me explain

Do a bunch of searches on the search engines for tumblr subdomains.

Then you run them through a custom script to see if the blogs are still live. I believe you can use scrapebox for something like this.

You then save all the 404 pages and then run them through a PR checker

When you come up with a 404 page that has pr then all you need to do is create a account on tumblr with that same username so that you get to keep that tumblr blog.

but the problem with this method is that when the next page rank update comes about then the blogs tend to loose all PR.

The reason tumblr blogs gain such good PR is because of the way tumblrs internal linking works - When you re-blog, like, follow and even tag users.

and the reason it looses PR so quick on expired/banned blogs is because the majority of the links will be pointing to posts that previously used to be on this blog.

@Forth - Add your link to each tumblr blog, it will help loads - but just remember that the PR me and you see is only ever updated every few months - dont be surprised if your blogs all drop in PR

          thanks

Well the best backlinks are pointing to the domain, i guess that's cool?

How much content is ideal for a web 2.0 tier 1? Is a 500 word unique article enough or should I aim for 2-3 of them?

            Say what?

How are you going to have 2 exact sub-domains on tumblr?

Last I checked a 404 (broken URL) redirects to the tumblr sub-domain index page.

What metrics do you use? PR (cause of no update) doesn't make sense anymore... Majestic Trust? What else?

Exisiting backlinks mostly Judged overall by some metrics like,

            PR
            Moz PA
            Moz DA
            Majestic CF
            Majestic TF
            Ahrefs ..etc.. etc..

Just a couple of the main ones, all boils down to a good domain.

If you don't have content, you won't have ANY benefit from this backlink... A natural backlink according to Google is a backlink with A LOT of UNIQUE and GOOD content (related to the website you are promoting!)

Even if the page has high PR and great backlinking?

Won't it atleast pass on some PR?

I believe tumblr will always generate a random number when you create a post

      Something like the link below

      http://damn-funny.tumblr.com/post/69710019134/mczayn-how-do-i-stop-caring-about-people-who

It would be almost impossible to re-create the pages -

When someone re-blogs your post then that post will show on their blog with a link back to it - All of these re-blog's will be sending juice to the posts which will in turn be sending the juice to your main url.

once you loose these inner pages then re-blogs will be lost - I believe tumblr will remove every post associated with that blog (even all re-blogs form other tumblr blogs - Im not 100% on this though but it would make sense to do it from a coding point of view and for keeping Tumblr clean)

If you loose these then you've lost the juice thats being sent to the main blog.

My best advise would be to create a new blog or even use the ones you have, post good content, follow users and like other posts - Users will re-blog your posts and get the process started again - When you get a re-blog from a tumblr user then the links are do-follow - when you like or re-blog then the actual links in the notes are no follow - It really is easy to gain PR on Tumblr -

Nope, your right on every point so far, Lose the original site and lose it all. Unless you have everything pointed to the homepage, which for Tumblr would never be the case.

The whole re-regging Tumblrs is old, and fools gold as they say. Almost all the juice in Tumblr comes from their own internal structure.

Not all can make that method work. You have to twist and invest time in it.
If you want to skip that you can buy them from ► ► ►High PR Tumblrs ✔ PR2-PR4 ✔ Only $2 ✔ Cheapest on BHW ✔ PA+27 (not sure if it's allowed to link).
