How much affect will I have on my ranking, when I change the url structure?

I have a site ranking on 39 position for a given keyword, but, it doesn't have keyword in the URL. I want to change the url structure and insert the keyword in the url.

So, can it affect my ranking. I will do 301 redirect of my previous URL.

    Being at position #39 might as well be at position #900 so it doesn't really matter much as far as current SERP position.

    Make sure you do a correct 301 redirect by testing the old URL & prove your redirect is correct.

    If you would have been on the 1st page of Google SERPs, I wouldn't suggest messing with a redirect, URLs are that important.

    The ranking of that url will surely drop because by changing the structure you have change the url and google will recognize it as a new url, so you have to optimize that url again to rank it again!
