HI, new here...

Ok, my first question here is...

Lets say I have 2 sites... One is about shoe sales for both women and men. And the other is only for women. The only difference is the main site (men and women) does not have a shopping cart. It is only for local store.

The other site (only women) has a shopping cart.
They both have different text (no copy past) but the products for women are the same for in both sites.

They are both sharing same IP address and same server, hosting
Is it a problem since the women products are the same and sharing same hosting and Ip?

What do you think?
#search engine optimization #hosting #problem #same hosting #same ip #seo #server or hosting #sites

  • There is no problem with that at all.
  • How do you think shared web hosting works? They host many different websites on the same server using the same IP. Virtual Hosts.

    • Just like the WF.

  • Does your shopping cart site have an SSL certificate? If so, wouldn't that mean you'd need a dedicated IP for that site?

    • The reason I ask is cuz i thought google might think I have more then one sites targeting the same niche and that would be spamming. but then again that would have been spamming if i had 1000 sites targeting same niche and using same IP and hosting. But mine is 2 so I should be fine.

Big Kahuna SEO - yes it does have an SSL. and why are you suggesting dedicated IP? I'd like to know please...

  • The shopping cart is provided by 2checkout. I am using their shopping cart and they have their own SSL.

    • Something else you do need to know is that you do have duplicated content and it may effect your organic ranking. I don't see the point of having two sites???

Why not have one site and just have a shopping basket for all women sections and a note saying order in store for the men.

Save yourself a headache and keep one site.

  • I dont think it does matter at all. As far as the content on both the sites are different, if you buy hosting with multiple domains many people upload multiple sites.
