Why Some Youtube Videos Poeple Are Using Ignore Tags?

Hi

I've noticed that some videos on Google that rank high, in there YouTube video description some are using.

Ignore tags:

Keyword 1
Keyword 2
etc.

or ignore these:

keyword 1
keyword 2
etc.

Is this a method that ignores there competitors video keywords and ranks them above them?

    NO!!!

    This is some kind of rumour, and its definitely wrong.

    A few years ago, this was a way to rank for more keywords, as Google was just searching for keywords on the YT page.

    With todays Google algorithm everything has changed.

    Google isnt looking for keywords anymore (it does, but not as much as in the past), more Google is looking for a unique description.

    So better put a description, where your main KW appears about 3 times - top, middle and bottom paragraph.

    That gave me the best results the past year and I am doing pretty much YT-Marketing.

      Alright yes ive been using the content method but I just see videos our ranking mine in google search which only have keywords in the description.

      another thing i found that gets good results that people tend to either not know or not do...is naming the mp4 file with your keyword. that's just as important as tags.

    Just put the keyword in the name of the file you uploaded.

    Title should have the keyword in it too,write a nice and unique description with your keyword stuffed in it various times and what i like to do after description is i put smth like extra tags and then just stuff more relevant keywords in it.
