High PR Links & SERP effects

Hi

My latest site, which is about a month and a half old, is on page 2-3 for most of its main keywords.

Over the past few weeks I have gained some killer links (anywhere from PR1-PR7) by simply asking other websites in my niche to link to me.

I was just wondering how long these high PR links would take to give me a boost in the SERPS?

I'm not looking for a definitive answer, just other peoples experiences.

Thanks

Receiving those links will benefit your website by increase the authority "credibility" of your site. You should see some ranking improvements but also don't forget to consistently create quality backlinks to your website.

The other thing you might want to watch out for is Google manually penalizing websites that look for PR

Links are a just a single, though important, aspect to ranking.

Are your pages properly optimized for the keywords you're trying to rank for? How tough does the page 1 competition look? And, more importantly, the top 3 competition? etc..

Keep in mind that it also depends on your competitors....how many links do they have? What is the quality? Someone stated above that links are a single factor and that is absolutely true. You are on the right track, just keep it going.

I would also have to agree that you should optimize your pages well. Post relevant and good content while you build your off-page SEO. Remember, you need to also vary your links. Try to market your website to social media platforms like Google Plus, Facebook, and Twitter.

SEO is an ongoing thing. You will see some movement early with in a couple weeks and then it may take months to see the full affect.

HI mate can see some more BS written here.

Ive linked up high PR sites and I feel the link from them within a week every time.

        BUT...

I linked up one of my sites and i couldnt get it beyond the top 10....

I changed the TITLE And META DESCRIPTION and this made all the difference... went form 50 off to 9 for the keyword i wanted.

Check on page SEO first as stated above.. but you dont have to waqit a month to feel the power of your PR... not in my testing anyway

You are always looking to pick a fight on nothing. There is no BS in this thread as you claim. No one has denied that you can have a fast effect but it depends on serp and it often is not the full effect.

I now am in contact with hundreds of webmasters who I help teach how yo use high PR links and though they all say it works very effectively its more often than not that it takes a little time. A year or two back you could put a PR3 link onto a site and it really shot up but in many serps now it will have no great effect immediately. In fact I have sites where the serp yawns on just one and goes nowhere which never used to be the case.

On page IS important and does effect that as well but its good for people to look at the long haul rather than get frustrated because they don't see what they want overnight.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I totally agree about on-page SEO being a key factor in ranking. In fact, without sounding cocky, I'd say it's my specialty, I optimize all content well and that's how I ranked on page 2-3 without any back-linking whatsoever.

This is for medium competition keywords if anyone is wondering. It sounds right that these high PR relevant backlinks may have some short term boost, but it will only really show the effects in a few months. I'm not the most patient person so this is slightly frustrating.

It may take you some time to see the full effect of your backlinks. It's a good thing that you are building links on high PR sites, but you need to take some time to see the results.

It's important if you got those backlinks with this MAIN keyword or simply another anchor text! Just don't forget that too many backlinks with the same keyword is dangerous and pay attention when building backlinks!

When Google finds the link you should get some juice pretty fast.

I saw some test done last month on an obvious spam site, they did a big burst of junk links which boosted the website within the week, but then they got flagged as spam and lost their ranking and deindexed at three. It was a garbage website made just for the test. It was pretty 8lackhatt I won't link it here. Something about "Google Freshness" I think.

Please keep in mind how much juice you get depends on the page that your linked from, a high PR website helps your authority, but on a no PR page you will get pretty much get no PR.

I have many cases where it took 2 months before the full effect was visible, one particular main keyword stayed at page 20 for 6 weeks, then all of a sudden it started to dance like crazy, pop up at page one, disappear again, you could almost put your clock on it.

Right now that keyword ranks at #6, climbed up from #7 yesterday and stable since 2 weeks only. The last link was build 3 months ago but all the high PR posts were indexed within hours.

Sometimes it almost looks that the links are stronger once they roll off the homepage as then the climbing really starts. It feels like Google says, hey all that link juice is not possible so we don't do a thing, till it lowers and then it starts to rank.

In other cases they jump up hugely within days and stay there. So unpredictable.
