Adsense Techie Question

Hi All.

This is sort of a techie question. On my Wordpress site I have a 336x280 ad set to both text and display. I put a divider on top that says "------- Sponsored Links-------"

When the ad is a display ad it looks great.

When the ad is a text ad there's a lot of white space as the text ad seems to center itself in the middle of the 336x280 ad block. So there's a lot of white space between my "------- Sponsored Links-------" divider and the start of the ad.

Is there any way to get the ad to collapse so that the white space on top is eliminated and the text ad is right under the divider? I looked at all the ad settings and found nothing.

Thanks for any help.

  • You can't collapse the size, but can define a background color for the ad unit. Choose a color (other than white), so the color will fill the area when text ad is displayed.

    • But then I'd still have blank space between the divider text and the start of the text ad right? It would just be a different color.
  • You will still have that space since you can't change the size of the ad, but if it's a different color, it will look similar to a display ad rather than text since it would be a solid color fill.
