hey guys, i'm still very new to the warrior forum so go easy..

I have quite good traffic to my site from search engines. I mean its all organic which is good I recon.
I haven't actively shot for backlinks to my website but am beginning to learn the importance of it for rankings/traffic.

my questions are;

where do you start searching to put your links? how do you know if your getting a quality backlink from a site and how do you know if it's do-follow?

any help on this is appreciated. cheers!

    Start with relevant niche sites.

    If I'm selling racing tires for cars, I want my links on niche sites/pages that are focused on racing cars.

    A few things I consider quality:
    • Is the backlink site well established (does the site have a lot of same niche backlinks)?
    • Is the backlink site popular with traffic (direct niche traffic)?
    • Does the backlink page have a recent Google Cache date (indicator Googlebots are constantly crawling the backlink page)?
    • Does the site have a history of high PR pages to help pass authority back to your own web page/s?

    View the HTML of existing outbound links, you'll be able to see a nofollow tag If it exist. Javascript links don't count.
