Drive traffic to a site that is not ranking (can't use ppc)

I have a credit card site that is converting pretty good, but I have very little traffic. I do make a few hundret dollars a month even if I only have about 50 unique visitors (all from search engines).

My site ranks pretty bad, as said before, but the thing is that it's no point in trying to rank since there are loads of sites trying really hard to rank for the same keywords. And they are not

The other problem is that ppc is not allowed with this affiliate program.

I'm all out of ideas, so maybe someone have suggestions as to what I can do?

This is not one of my main projects, but I wouldn't mind making a little more money on it if it doesn't take too much work..

Uhm, maybe you can use social-media sites to drive traffic? If PPC is not allowed maybe Facebook and/or Twitter advertising is.

No it's not.. Hehe the card company just want it all for themselves. But I've been thinking of making a website about finances and then drive traffic to the site from a Facebook page. But then I'd have to write *really* good articles = spend a lot of time on it. Not sure if it's worth it. But I've made about $8-10K a month on credit cards before. Took hundreds and hundreds of hours getting there though, and it's a real full time job to keep things up.. Hmm... If I could only outsource some of the work..

I wonder why PPC is not allowed? Usually it has the highest conversion rate and merchants are happy with the quality of the traffic.

Hmm I have no experience with that. You show one site to the search engines and another one to the visitors, right? How can that help me with this site?

Yeah I know, but I guess they get a lot of traffic from their own ppc campaign and that's probably a lot cheaper than paying me $120 per approved application.

Write the best stuff you can and link back to some of your best articles on your blog through the guest article. Create Targeted Social Media Engagement Again, this doesn't directly increase traffic to your website. But it definitely increases the "chances" of increasing traffic to your website through social media.

Try the search traffic that is allowed for the affiliate offer, e.g., PPV, social, article marketing, etc.

If at any time you can't use them, you have a fair option for solo ads.
Have you ever tried solo ads, it also can be a great way to drice traffic.

I would set up a ppc campaign. Send your ppc traffic to a Lead Capture Page, Google Approved of course, then send them to your website through one of your emails. If they don't like your website that doesn't mean they wont like something else you have to offer them.

As a few might have mentioned already in this thread, social media is a pretty good way to start + the barriers to entry is as low as you can get.

Setup a Facebook page, Linkedin page (depend on your niche) and a Twitter page and you're good to go.

Another way is from Forums. Find a relevant forum and share your ideas and knowledge to the current members.
