It is indeed. It's a great way to build links. The links willl be loved by all search engines. Lots of traffic too.

      No it's not, it's a nofollow link.

      only links with dofollow count!

It's only Google that apparently ignores the passing of Page Rank with NoFollow - the others such as Yahoo and MSN do not care too much about NoFollow.

Admittedly the question is "do they count?" but even if they didn't I would recommend using it, as much as is relevant as it brings in a hell of a lot of targeted traffic (if your link is related to the questions you're answering).

Plus, if you become a bit of an authority in certain categories, people will happily want to know more about you and check out your profile etc.

Why does everyone get so hung up about NoFollow? A link is a link - and in turn that can bring traffic. That's after all, the original reason people linked to each other - to get traffic.

          nah mate.

yahoo was the first to ignore nofollow links followed by MSN, for a while google did count the nofollow links... then you see a huge shift in ppl's rankings some 5-8 months ago... this is due to the not including the nofollow links.

but sure, if you know of a high end traffic site that you know will send you traffic, then I guess a nofollow attributed link doesn't really matter for as long as you get a nice chuck of traffic

Personally I dont bother with those type of sites, I just concentrate on getting traffic from google.

Yahoo is a great way to promote your link but be cautious, to much promoting your link in yahoo may result ban your account.

Its actually nofollow so Google won't count it but it will build credibility of your site.
It will also yield good result in yahoo and msn search engines.

If it brings in additional traffic, it does make sense, even if the backlinks are nofollow.

A link is a link, they all count. Granted no-follow links won't pass PR juice but all other search engines recognise it.

Be careful not to get carried away on Yahoo! Answers, I've had am account suspended for spamming in the past (in my early days lol). Just be sensible about it.
