That new adsense format has me stumped. I have tried virtually all
day trying to tweak colors, sizes, shapes, you name it, just to get
the crap to look and feel right. Here are some of my thoughts.

I need a border. I put a light gray border. Without it, the ads just
don't look like much.

I was using the standard green url, but now use red. The green just did not
stand out as before. I may switch back.

I was thinking about ditching the 728 and going with 2 486's side
by side. It looks okay, but dang, that eats up two blocks with only
2 ads showing. On some pages with the 2 468 blocks at the top, I
put the big 300x600 block. We'll see.

After working on one site, all day, I have decided to just leave things
alone, no change in page format. But I am changing all backgrounds to
white to further enhance the border on the ads. I use the same ad style on
all sites.

Completely white background with borders on ads seems to look okay.

But dang, I hate the way these ads look.

My revenue is off today.

Anyone else want to chip in, feel free. I want to hear good and bad on how
your sites are going with this new shtuff.

Well, I can't say that it's just normal fluctuations or not.
It's about a 33% drop. My CTR has been cut in half.

Man sorry to hear that, do you still have the same rankings for those websites?

I have noticed large fluctuations in the SERPs recently

I'm thinking about adding a BIG arrow pointing at the ads saying "This is a hyperlink!".

Okay, added a black border to all ads...seems to be helping.
      Recovering a tad.

ROTFLMAO Yukon. I just noticed that some google ad partners
can still get the separate lines, text, underline, etc. Dang it.

I went to EZA for laughs...they have ads with the new style. I
also notice they are using chitika. I wonder how long they have
been doing that. I never thought I would say this, but that
chitika looks like it might get more clicks.

Have not been to EZA in a long time. I notice the ads above the
articles are all red text. I wonder if they did this in response.
I may tweak the colors, but not wanting to go crazy.

Google really needs to enable us to label these as ads, more info,
etc. That would be a huge help.

I may even look at link units again!

I like how the Chitika ads are numbered, making them appear as if they're other pages of content to read.

If I didn't know any better I'd think they were related articles.
