So I did a test to see what scores better, Adsense text, banner or mixed views.
I did the test on a high traffic website, with millions of page views every month.

30 days only Adsense banner impressions: (3.290.003 pv)
CTR 0,07% - CPC 0,26 - CPM 0,17

30 days Adsense banner and text impressions: (3.341.870 pv)
CTR 0,08% - CPC 0,24 - CPM 0,18

30 days Adsense text impressions: (3.401.391 pv)
CTR 0,09% - CPC 0,24 - CPM 0,21

Total page views during the 90 days: 10.033.264

The difference between 0,17CPM and 0,21CPM doesn't sound like much, but it is a plus of 25%.

That is because my website is not made for making money with Adsense, it is a high quality website that makes money in another way. I'm happy with the CTR rate.

So...........what's the point in posting those stats?

To a statistician, those stats would be so similar, you could make
        no theories.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

          Hi Paul

Simple, most website can't measure it over such numbers. I know many people who are happy with 1.000 pv per day. And with just 1.000 a day, one click can make the difference, that might you choose differently. But in the long term you might loose money.

With doing it over 10.000.000 pv, it will be more "trustworthy", because of the numbers. It not matters if I have a MFA website or not. It shows in a clear trend. And that can be interesting for people who doubt. TEXT, BANNER or MIX.

          Depends on the deviation.

Agreed, In most of the cases text ads ads do the magic no matter how much is the traffic. How about the link units? Had you experiment with those also?

      Yes I did.

The Big Block (328*280) was the most successful in CTR
The Skyscraper (160*600) was the most successful in total revenue
