Hi,

I've been struggling to rank a youtube video from over 2 months. I have high number of views, likes, comments and subscribes than my competitor. But still my competitor is outranking me.

What other factors do i need to get in order to beat my competitor?

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe all your views, comments, and subscribers are fake and his are real?

The more your video get real comments, and share it's popularity increases.
to get real views you can share video on you personal social profiles, and link it in your articles.

Spend $25 on Ad Words (to advertise your YouTube video).

    If you spend $25, there's a promo code that'll give you $100.

If you put all $100 into that ONE video...

You'll probably end up with around 10,000 more views, all real.

Which will result in more comments, shares, likes, etc.

Get people to share the video via Facebook/Twitter.

Have a couple people post it on their blog.

Link to it in your signature here and on other forums.

    This will work wonders.

You can easy rank a video with 10,000 views on the first few places in Youtube and outrank videos with several million views... The hint is that they could be FAKE! But the ranking factors are the same as you are trying to rank a website. Just build backlinks, article marketing will work great while Social Bookmarking here will not be so powerful. Facebook and Twitter are great ways to increase the number of visitors and views to your video!

Did you use a bot to get the views?

    Are the view high retention?

Comments from different locations and the Likes?

I implore you optimize your video for both short and long tail keywords that are marketable on both YT and Google.

Embed your video in top sites and social medias, get some powerful backlink and see how it will turn out.

      Ok,

I assumed you were trying to rank the YT video in Google SERPs since you posted the thread in the SEO forum.

Don't buy views man. That's rubbish lol.

The same as buying views for a site.

It's just a number. Nothing more.

If you're gonna spend money (even if just a small amount)...

Advertise on YouTube via Ad Words.

$5 will probably get you a couple hundred REAL views.

I spent around $40 on one video...

      I got around 4,000 views, 16 Likes, 13 Comments...

In about a week or so at $5 a day budget.

If you optimized your video for your keywords and still not ranking then addmefast services sucks.

Get high retention views, distribute it via social networks and embed it on high traffic web 2.0 sites. Make a video backlink as well, hopefully you should see some improvement.

I used to be busy on YouTube in the past and my most successful video has over 400k views and counting.

That particular video was getting very little views for the first year that it had been up but then all of a sudden I noticed a massive jump in views and now everyday I get about 10 comments and the view count just rises and rises.

from that experience I would say that older videos are favored in the search but the algorithms change all the time just like Google.

Just make quality videos that keep people engaged in the comment section and over time you will be more and more successful.

There are so many factors for Youtube ranking. While views, likes, subscribes, etc. can bring your video to page 1 right away, your video can also fall down as days go by. Here are my recommendations:

    Make your channel strong

I have a strong channel dedicated to my niche and my videos can rank fast even if I don't buy a lot of views and what not.

Add quality backlinks to your video

Even if you are targeting to rank in Youtube only and not in Google, you still have to add quality backlinks to your video. This is may take a longer time and more effort in your part but when your video reaches page 1, there's a greater chance that it stays there.

Of course I still have a lot more but I'm just sharing them to my subscribers

In fact, I'm planning to create a product very soon on latest updates on Youtube video SEO.

This is something that is often overlooked.

But google is in the process of organizing channels by relevant groups. And one thing I've noticed with Youtube lately, if you have a FOCUSED channel, with all your content surrounding *1* particular subject, Youtube will show priority to your channel.... as opposed to having a channel, the covers 1001 completely different topics and niches.

So you need to focus on making relevant, "authority" youtube accounts.

ALL of my best performing channels are based on 1 niche. Then all the videos in my channel target subniches or highly relevant niches related to my broader niche.

And similar to what the above poster said, there has been times I've uploaded new videos, and had them ranking on page 1 of google in less than a week. Videos that have outranked competitors with a few hundred or even a few thousand backlinks. But this was usually because their SEO was a nightmare.

When their SEO is really good, I usually have to build links although I find it takes far less links when that video is on a targeted, authority type channel.

As far as ranking on Youtube, in my own experience, retention views count for the most. Followed by likes, then your view to like ratio, favorites, subs, shares, comments to views ratio etc etc.

Along with that, 100% "perfect" onpage SEO is basically a requirement if you're in any type of competitive niche. And I could write a small book just about onpage Video SEO. Having your keyword as your channel name gives you a huge advantage. The way your tags are ORGANIZED can give you a huge advantage. Having a 1000 word article, loaded with all your keyword gives you a HUGE advantage. Having your main keyword twice in the title, or your main keyword and secondary keyword gives you a huge advantage.

But what most people MISS, imho, is the retention view part.

I have tested dozens of different paid view suppliers. And there are some very credible suppliers out there (*credible in appearance* I should say), very affordable, who are providing SHIT views. The views might look good in your analytics, but they are botted, shit views.

On the other hand, there are some more expensive view suppliers I've used, who I ordered from, and I noticed every time I'd order their views I'd get sales. Which never happened before with other suppliers. So I realized this particular view supplier had to be sending me REAL traffic. It was still paid retention views, but bots do NOT buy affiliate products.

I also noticed, compared to other retention view suppliers, it takes about 1/3 as many views when I use him (to rank #1 in YT) compared to other suppliers I used.

So its not always as simple as you think. You don't just find some random view supplier, keep using them, get shitty results then question whats going wrong. You have to test many different suppliers, and you WILL notice that certain suppliers dramatically outperform their competitors.

You will also notice they tend to be the most expensive (per 1000 retention views). But I have learned overtime, they are actually cheaper. Because with other suppliers, I have to get 3-4 times the amount just to rank.

There are so many other factors that I can't get into. But usually, if you're buying views, and you're not ranking, you need to find a new retention view supplier. And please don't pm me for who I use. I don't invest hundreds of dollars in testing to give all my best sources away on a silver platter.

You can avoid all the Youtube guess work & constant on-page YT changes by ranking your own video thumbnail images for self hosted videos. It's basic SEO.

I have ranked many videos on YouTube and google.com. I believe that views, likes and subs are important but they need to be high retention views. Also very important to get backlinks going to your video and even more important is to have your video embedded on sites and web2.0.

Don't just optimize the video, optimize the channel for a niche. Build YouTube juice to the channel and you will see your videos move up and outrank other older videos.

    Good luck!

I'm not sure if you have added captions or not yet but if you haven't, i think i know the problem. Use captiontube to add captions to your videos and i guarantee, almost instantly, they will rise in SERP. Youtube is just like google, 'content is king' is probably a better way to put it. Try to get as much content up as possible. Aim for 300 or more words in the description and only use relevant tags. If you want to know more just PM me.

It does matter where you buy your views from, they have to be "high retention".

Just like with regular SEO - on-page optimization is VERY important and can´t be overlooked (like many usually do).

Choosing you backlinking strategy is easier when it comes to YT SEO - find a reliable provider from Fiverr, blast a huge amount of diversified backlinks (different platforms, anchors, naked URLs) to your video and you WILL see a positive change!
