Adwords Is Blowing My Bank Account?

I read somewhere to turn content off, so i just have.. but all the clicks are coming from google search !

    It depends on what niche you're in. Some clicks are really worth that much if you're in a competitive niche. You could try improving your quality score for cheaper clicks.

    If your new to PPC NEVER start with Adwords! Try some of the smaller networks til you figure out what ad types work best and what type of landing pages convert. If you were to try to do this with adwords you could spend thousands of dollars and not get a single sale.

    I don't understand. What's the problem? When I was selling computer parts, this was the norm for me. I was spending almost $6,000 in Adwords per month to make my $4,000 profit. It was a constant nailbiter because a slight shift in conversions would send me soaring into the red. It didn't happen, luckily enough, but you can always set a daily limit.

        Yes really! I spent around $100,000 one year and Google sent me all sorts of presents They sent me leather cases, mini usb mice, memory sticks, usb led lights, etc. Yes, those were the days... I'm glad they're gone

          While it is clear that anyone can actually win at roulette the revelation that came to me this morning that this is a game of odds, not chance. There are mathematical formulas called algorithms and this is how computer gambling is programmed. The same is true with Internet Advertising. You put a "chip" on a keyword or two in Google or some where else, and hope for a ranking on the first page. The more chips you play, the better you have to get noticed. The more money you spend does NOT Guarantee the clicks. The problem is you can't afford to bet $100 per click, or can you?

          If you play long enough with enough money, Google will reward you with top rank. Then some one with more money comes along and out bids you. Oops, there goes your money and your rank. What if you could guarantee top rank with no risk? What if YOU could out bid everyone risk FREE? Now for a limited time YOU could be enabled to bid $100 per click if necessary to keep your top position.

          The question is do you want this secret tactic? Would you be willing to double you exposure for free? I triple doubled on $200 at the table and cleared $1100 with one roll. Yea right you say, and later you lost it all right? Wrong ! Even I was amazed, and you will be too when you see this strategy. It is like beating Google for once. The cool thing is that they make money too using this strategy. So it's win, win and you can get FREE advertising to boot, since I haven't gotten enough exposure here you will have to contact me back here, Sorry

            Yeah, i am crazy i think lol and yep im building a list.. very slowly though, only 30 subscribers or so and yep im throwing in tons of affiliate links throughout the autoresponder messeges. Havnt got a sale from affiliate marketing yet

          I spent close on $200,000 one year and got some sort of blanket thingy with a google embroidered logo in the corner...should have held out for the leather briefcase! :p

    That's how google adwords works, if you try to use their PPC
    ads it will blows your marketing effort and get all your money
    on hand. Try to create blog about your products and see how
    it does and also by submitted into free directories will a big help

    Hearing people talk about adwords is always interesting for me. I am responsible for businesses that spend 50K per day+ and close to $2M per month on Google, Yahoo and MSN.
    The bids for some keywords are $200+ and some avg. daily CPCs are close to $50

    Despite all this we are talking of ROIs from 400% to 1,000% so like many have said it not about the spend or CPC necessarily, it is about the ultimate goal.
    Some segments are competitive and thus costly but rewards can be huge.

    I think you can definitely stick with Adwords but definitely learn a bit more about;
    - match types
    - negative keywords
    - account structures and quality scores
    - content network best practices and site targeting
    - ad distribution
    - kw level analysis

    before you spend large amounts of money in whatever scale of campaign you are running.

    SEM is awesome in that it is a truly measurable form of direct response marketing but you must enter the game knowing the landscape to succeed.

    Optimizing for search engine traffic is a must. Free constant traffic. If your project is long term, invest in a SEO professional or do it your self.

    If you continue to use Adwords, target only the long tail ones, such as misspelled ones also. It is the most targeted and the most affordable clicks you can achieve.

    Also, if it is your first time using the program, always wait for a voucher, 5 months ago, they gave $250 vouchers to anyone who signed up at the promotion.

    it's not about how much you invest (you are investing, not spending) - it's about your return on that investment.

    If the return is positive, then scale up and invest more!

    If the return is negative, halt your ads and start going over all your data and seeing which kw's are converting. Test and tweak.

    Google has changed there adword RULES to many time to the point it is hard for me to get clicks now and the prices OMG I'm not even gonna start on that topic. I remember in 2005 adwords use to be my main tool to advertise online. Now I just buy leads and call them. Any advice on a marketing tool that works for online marketing?

    Try getting off the search network and use placement ads. But use your own placements. Not those Google chooses for you. I lost a lot of money with that. Now I pay 5 cents per click and get TONS of traffic. And it's targeted!

    PPC is tough on those 2 niches.

    If anything I would say that for starters is good to stay only on the content network.
    Clicks are cheaper and QS requirements are not so tough. Once you have gathered enough information about what keywords sell. Start a search campaign with those keywords only.
