Need Advice on Affiliate Site Set-Up

Hi All,

Been idle on WF for a long time, but want to start getting involved. Spent last year trying different IM models and have finally decided to concentrate on building quality sites, SEOing them to build traffic, then monetize. Lost my shirt in PPC too many times.

I am leaning towards using an SEO enhanced WordPress blog application; one for each niche. Once it matures, I can use it as a landing page for PPC campaigns as it should have a great QS by then.

Question: Will a blog format outrank a silo structured website in Google, all things being equal (content)? Still don't know the answer to this.

If I go with a blog format, should the blog be standalone, or should I put it in a subfolder on a silo structured website; i.e., mysitedotcom/blog (what will rank better?).

Lastly, here are the two products I'm considering for building my sites. If anyone has experienced using either of these, I would appreciate your opinion:

    Not really... but the way you design your site and linking structure is very important...

    install it in top level domain (root folder), unless you have plans for something else, if so. install it on a subdomain
