I was looking at some $100+ keywords like
structured settlement $248.36
mesothelioma lawyers $327.67

and was wondering, if there are actually websites that pay that much per click? If you target those keywords, any chance you could get at least half of that CPC from Adsense advertising ?

Here's the list:
* - Keyword list

I believe the highest CPC I've ever got from Adsense was €9 or about $12, but my average is about $0.50

Keep in mind keywords like mesothelioma lawyers is potentially a multi-million dollar payout for winning a related lawsuit for the Adwords advertiser/lawyer. So that $327 wouldn't be much expense.

Yes. The highest I have ever paid for a keyword was about $25. Nowhere close to what you showed, but some people do it.

I have keywords that I spend $20-$23 on in good volume. I didn't know these types of keywords exist, but if the profit is there then it makes perfect sense.

There is many words higher. Much higher. But just to add that
this aint on the content network. People dream of this and
create some crappy site, and think the bucks just roll in.

As a personal injury lawyer (who doesn't use PPC) ... yes. Their budgets are tens of thousands a month. Cases are worth millions.

My question is: why is anyone paying $150 for "fox business network" lol.

Makes me want to go out and search on some of those terms and click on the ads!

For some of those though, think about the cost to run TV ads to MAYBE get someone. From Google you know most of the clicks are going to be targeted.

      LOL, you're mean.

But if the cases are worth millions, it makes sense.
How about "car donation" $50 CPC?
Are charities wasting the money that they get from donations to pay $50 per click? Say you donate your car, they sell it and "donate" the money to google. That's freaking insane. I can give my money directly to google if I wanted to help G.

Yes, we have a client that is paying 100-200 for keywords. They make you money, so it's worth it.

My question is, wouldn't these people paying these ridiculously high amounts be concerned of "unethical clicking" by their competitors??

      1. If the lawsuits are worth millions, it must still be worth it, and
      2. Google can filter out most of such clicks. (How often have you seen clicks disappear from your Adsense stats?)

        1. We're not always talking about million dollar lawsuits clicks, even a $5 "unethical click" can do damage.

        2. Google can filter "most" of such clicks!! Possibly true, but how would google know, how can they possibly distinguish the good ones from the bad ones?

Keep in mind, a lot of numbers are not 100% accurate, so take those stats with a pinch of salt.

On the other hand, yes, there are some ridiculously expensive keywords lol

      Lawyers make millions.

      Charities make millions.

What's worse, spending millions on postal mailings or on adsense?

People don't just send you money because they wake up one day
from a dream they had. Charities need to solicit and advertise.
Many are multi-billion dollar operations. They pay money to
      people to run run it.

Ever texted a donation? Did you know the charity has probably paid
to set that up? And then pay more fees? It aint free to give.

You think google does not know how to detect a nonsense click?

Nobody in their right mind would go click bombing google, clicking
on ads for "fun," or other insane ideas.

People who are making millions, they should not have enough problem to spend out even more in advertisements. If you had any idea about their turnover, you might not ask this question.
