What would be a good headline when offering a link trade?

This is something I was playing around with for quite some time already so I just made the start by scraping some SEO blogs to see if I can gather some links from bloggers in my niche.

So I scraped based on some SEO+blog type of keywords, extracted the email addresses from about 200 sites and I'm about to email them now so I could use some suggestions for a good subject title.

Most of the ones I contact have a PR3 site, I thought I don't aim to high and I will offer them a PR4 link in return from a niche relevant domain in the IM niche.

Is it even allowed to scrape email addresses and just mail them on the fly or would it be considered as spam?

Not that I care that much but it would obvious be disastrous if Hostgator would take down my email address or something crazy like that, can such thing happen?

Hmm, isn't all link outreach a certain type of spamming then or does it turn into spamming cause I send a bulk emails at the same time?

Almost feels like people saying, submitting to 100 web directories with automated software is spam, but when you build the same links by hand it isn't

      Get my drift?

I think I'll prepare another email address that I care less about.

    A headline.

"You scratch my back (link) and I'll scratch yours!"

You are not going to have crap for success just blasting out a bunch of emails. You really need to actually visit the sites and personalize the email. Otherwise they are going to just get ignored.

That is NOT how you do it. However I Think this is one of those things you will never get good guidance on here. I know I have no plan soon of sharing with this forum how to do it. Theres always some idiot lurking around that will try and automate anything, spam and ruin it for everyone. All we need now is Imers scraping and blasting emails using copied formulas and approaches.

and yeah - that is definitely spamming.

Maybe this could help Nik. If they're genuine bloggers they dont really care about your automated email. If he's a link seller like you then maybe its worth a try. If you're going to send him/her an email without knowing what he's been posting in his blog recently then chances are you're going to his spam filter. Like the survey shows, unlike us SEO's who gives a crap about links anyway? They dont care much about seo unless they're in make money online or similar niche. if you want them to link to you send them a personalized email, maybe interact with them on twitter first, tell him that you read his article and you loved it and stuff.

I scraped a list of blogs from scrapebox a while ago and send them an email if they'd want to link to me. out of 20 emails only 1 guy responded and he asked for money. My email format was horrible tho lol

Probably just as horrible as how I would set it up

I was thinking if I could automate it in some way it would be a good addition to my service but from the reactions I hear that it won't be as easy as scrape, blast, link.

I remember to receive such emails myself with those link trades, nowadays I don't receive them anymore but 6-12 months ago I did on very regular base, if the offered links weren't on faked domains I might have chosen to do so.

Thanks for the link, seems those damn bloggers aren't very cooperative and sound more like a bunch of money whores who probably don't understand that a PR4 or PR5 link can supply them with a good boost and turn their site into PR3 so that they can ask others higher prices for links to others. Guess logic wasn't there strongest point in school.

lol..Dude ease up. When you were scraping their email addresses and thinking of sending them unsolicited emails were you planning on doing that to advance a charity or as a "money whore"?

I may revive it but at the time I just had no time for a second forum. Probably just open up the one I have. Nik0 has no time for videos. He is out penguin hunting.

If your trying to get webmasters to link to those Amazon doorway page sites you've talked about in the past, nobody will link to that stuff.

It's like your trying to drive a Yugo in the Indy 500 race.

I might've missed or forgotten something.

                What type of video?

                Thai porn or something?

It only takes one correctly placed spam report for you to lose your hosting account and/or your domain at the registrar. This is another one of your really bad ideas.

I wish that were true, but it takes a lot more than one. I've been filing them left and right and nobody's domains have gone down. I have a business address from long ago before I was smart enough to not include it as text on a website. Damn thing gets 20-50 spam messages a day.

I haven't read all the replies but when I get a request for a guest post, as long as the content looks solid I have zero problem at all posting it (just not on my blog that syndicates to Yahoo Small Business). If anything I feel like adding guest posts and variety in terms of content will help my blog, not hurt it, and I'd guess most blog owners probably have a similar opinion as long as they're not getting hammered with requests.

I get those requests also now and then, I don't even bother to open them, but hey I'm not a blogger.

Anyone experienced with BuzzStream? It seems that is the way to go according to some famous blogger who recommended it in one of his posts.
