My products sell for $399 to $649. It's worth it for me to use PPC. I'm glad I do as my organic SERPS just got bitch slapped by the penguin update.

I'm averaging a sale a day, so even if I have a $1000 budget on PPC/month, i'm coming out way ahead.

    Not for everyone though...

It's depend on product demand, if product demand is good then it's not matter what's the cost of the product.

I've found that the costlier the product or service you promote is, the less competition there is. Of course the click prices are also quite high, and the competition that is there is fierce.

In my experience, once you find something that works at this level (that is competitive keywords with a nice amount of volume that consistently bring you a profit), it is much more lucrative than more popular and crowded niches.

I think it also sharpens your PPC skills to a greater extend as you wield more money, and you grow in your abilities from taking larger risks.

PPC is a great way to get traffic. Just remember is also a great way to lose money. You need to learn a couple things before jumping into PPC. For example, setting up ad groups properly. IF you just throw KWs into an ad group, your CTR(click through rate) is going to be horrible, but your CPC(cost per click) is going to be high.

Learn the basics, and start with a low budget and then keep testing and optimizing your ads. Just remember my first point, PPC can really costly if not done correctly.
