hey guys,

So I had a video ranked for a local term and its been on page 1 for a while. Only problem is that its stuck in the 7th and 8th spot.

I desperately want to move it up past the Google business listings but I'm getting no love.

I've sent bookmarks, wikis, comments and social signals. I was told by a good friend that I need vary the anchors.

Can you guys share your thoughts or service that help with this. If there's a thread you suggest I'll take a look for sure.

I was using indexification to index the links but its wasn't performing too well either.

P.S.

Give me an action plan if you can. Thanks for all of your insight!

Yea I know comments may not be the best for that 1st tier. I just figured you MAY get away with it using videos.

Build some tier links and if you have access to a good blog network that would be fantastic.

You didn't say where the video is hosted (self hosted, Youtube, etc...). If the video is self hosted it's all regular SEO for your web page in Google SERPs. I'm sure YouTube video pages are the same but I don't put much effort into YT (unnecessary competition in Google SERPs (IMO)).

For me personally, writing a proper description and editing and updating it can drastically help your page. I generally write 350-500 words in the description, slightly keyword stuffing (around 4-5%) and with 2-3 links.
