A Couple of Citations Questions

Hi,

Is it still important that citations for local businesses are exact on all pages, ie if the address says Avenue on your site, then really you shouldn't have abbreviations like Ave on directory listings or has Google realised that these abbreviations are the same?

Also, when using something like guest blogging for backlinks, is it worth (if the blog owner will allow it) worth adding your NAP to the guest post or do the citations really only make a difference from local sites/directories?

    Thanks, is that a definate? I would also like to think Google knows these these common abbreviation and would be surprised if they didn't but this post seems to say otherwise although it is quite old What Is A Google Places Citation | Find Google Citations | Local GoldMine Blog

    If you search for Google Places Citations Abbreviations there are a quite a few other sites mentioning to be consistent ie use street instead of st. all the time.

    All citations usually have there own format for handling suite, avenue etc.. and Google has an auto syncer which will sync these up, enter them in as close as possible but don't fret over the small things like suite, ste or avenue, ave etc.. it will sync up I promise

    google has a strong system which clearly identifies what citations are for what words.
    you need not to worry about it, just make sure you know you are using right citation, I mean spellings ect.

    Google which know what you type and give you results is enough smart as well to get abbr. of ave. Citations is not all but is a big plus factor for your local online business. your address should be same on these places. GP, all citations, on your website, on your KML file, FB page, twitter etc. ask your satisfied customers to provide real reviews for you on your GP. other things also give you good plus. like image geotagging and copyrighting for your business, youtube videos optimization etc. if you cannot do all. contact me freely .
