Moving content from static HTML to WordPress

I have a website and let's call it mydomain.com

It has about 50+ pages, all in HTML page.

I want to recreate them in Wordpress and move all the content to Wordpress posts.

That means, the content in this page:
http://www.mydomain.com/sometopichere.html
will be moved to:
http://www.mydomain.com/sometopichere/

The content will still be the same. I'll also do a 301 redirect for all the HTML pages.

Do you think this move will affect rankings? And any penalty involved? From what I see, I think not but just seeking opinions.

If you do proper 301 redirects, the risk for your rankings is minimal, but still, it may take some time before Google reindexes your new site and recognizes the redirects, so be ready for a temporary organic traffic drop.

BTW, here's an automated tool that can help you move all content, better than copy/pasting.

    regards!
