When considering a niche, is this bad?

One niche I came across uses the keyword "watch sherlock online" (18,000 searches globally). I figured I might take on the challenge to make a guide to BBC's Sherlock series and refer readers to netflix.

While searching, I discovered the exact match dot com domain name is already taken and is basically the idea I was considering. However, it doesn't seem to be ranked high, despite the competition being seemingly low.

Is this a red flag for this niche? Does it mean that I can't really take advantage of the keyword "watch sherlock online"?

  • What you said alone isn't a red flag. However, you have a lot of work to do in order to capitalize it.
  • An exact match domain isn't nearly enough to rank for a specific keyword, even when there is little competition. There are more important factors you should be looking at before considering entering this niche.
