Hi Warriors,

Starting with a new website and am interested to learn your best practices when it comes to SEO. I just read a book that was too specialized and found it didn't relate much too blogs.

What I am going to do in my new blog are the following things:

- Guest blogging
- Leave comments with an url
- Use long tail keywords without spamming them
- Use anchor text and use some keywords around that anchor text
- Check if their are any links from really messy websites and remove them.

What do you think of these practices?
What are your additions?

Eager to hear from you

Use H2 tags...try to fit the keyword in there.

Bold/italic keyword at least once in the article.

Use keyword in Alt. Text for images.

    Get backlinks to the article/post/page.

Make sure it's good, valuable content and not "stuffed."

Go for keywords with under 2,000 searches, low competition.

    Research your competitors.

If you're wanting to rank high on the search engine results...

I'm not sure why you'd go after the High Competition keywords.

        If you're looking to advertise...

High competition keywords can be your best friend.

        If you're new to SEO...

Go after the low competition keywords first.

        Especially if you're a beginner.

And you'll get traffic from it much sooner.

Making a research on your competitors is a big must. This might sound a little sneaky, but that is one of the best ways to come up with your list of do's and don'ts when developing the content of your website. And never underestimate the power of making content that is actually "relevant" for your niche.

Build relationships with people you like/admire. It makes SEO way more fun and you need to be having fun to stick it out long term.

As a SEO beginner you are well doing those things and also i would like to add some points with you,

1.Write natural quality content with related images
2.Add articles with backlinks to your domains.
3.Use a keyword that is appropriate, as much as possible, to the content of the page.
    4.Social media sites.

These are good points, too. First, Facebook is an excellent place to get traffic from. And second, I usually depend on keywords, too. Though others do not prefer what I use, I trust Google Keyword Planner for this matter because it is very simple to use and I believe that it releases accurate figures.
