I'm new to adwords but notice many ads exceed the 25 characters allowed in the ad title. How are they doing this?

    There is a special string you can use to automatically include the keyword typed into Google into your Ads Title or Body, this is probably how they are doing this.

      Here's a suggestion. It may or not work, depending on where
      your ads show. After you create a title, make the first line
      for the description also a short sentence, complete with a period,
      of say 25 characters as well. Maybe a tad longer, but not much.
      See if the first sentence in the description also appears in the
      ad title when shown. For example:

      Need Blue Leather shoes? Great selection here.

      Just don't go nutzoid, and you have a better chance. You may not
      have much chance, as this might only pertain to the ads above SERPS.

      A better way might be to put this:
      Your 25 cha Title is Here. domain.com.

      Paul

    cool technique paul, I'll check that out. I thought I saw a larger title ad but wasnt sure if I was crazy.

    If anyone knows of that string that you add for the keyword could you provide it?

    25 characters is the maximum. What you are seeing is probably what paulgl refers to where people have the 1st decription line come up next to the title.

    This is not something that happens randomly: as paulgl mentions, all you have to do is put a full stop after the first description line and your ad has to be in at least position 3.

    Also the basic way to do keyword insertion is to put {KeyWordink Ponies}

    In this example, 'Pink Ponies' is what gets displayed if one of your keywords can't be displayed, for example if it exceeds 25 chars (note: keyword insertion can also be used on the description lines) or if it is a trademarked term.
