Amount of Backlinks?

Hi warriors,

I have printing website which sells custom printing products and I have hired seo company to do seo work. They are doing 200 backlinks a month and I thought that would be enough, but it seems not working so well.

The 200 backlinks include high pr links(4-8), directory submission, social bookmarking, blog posting and pr submission.

Would 200 backlinks a month enough to make my website rank high?
My keywords are very competitive.
Or do I need new strategy instead of this type of backlinks?

I'd appreciate any suggestions!

      And from what I can see, looks like they have built a lot of PR1-PR2 spammy links from spammy domains.
      But yeah, 200 backlinks a month is actually overkill, especially if they are supposedly PR4-PR8 links. 1 PR8 link a month would be substantial to be honest.

  • I suggest build 2-3 quality backlink daily manually. It will make 60-90 backlink in a month. Do not buy backlinks ever

      I agree to this opinion, if you increase backlinks fast, you can get google penalty.
  • To much back links are not preferred today..just some quality back links with quality contents and proper on page seo can give you what you want..
  • Quality backlinks will plays ever to get high website rank, not as quantity. So need to focus yourself about making good quality backlinks to your website.

      I was trying so hard to contact with my seo company and they are not reachable now, disappeared.

      I am already in trouble with google now, I was on #8 and now on page 5.
      With other keywords are same too, mostly on page 5,6,7...

      I am trying to build 2-3 quality backlinks everyday now thanks to kamalgoyal!
      Is there anything else you guys can suggest for business like this? This business is all about printing products.. bit different to content sites i guess..
  • try to build the links manually instead of buying links sometimes it might be spam and cause you problem as many update are in the action from Google
  • It may take some time to see the results of the backlinks on the search engines, so you will need to be patient. Furthermore, it is important to have backlinks in related websites or categories to what you have on your site. Why? Because if the links may be found by search engines as unrelated to your sit, they will attach little value. So if the backlinks are quality, you will see the results. However, very competitive keywords might not attract targeted visitors if they are general. Keyword phrases are better for results.

  • The quantity of the backlinks are not important because you will be slapped by google bot.
    Just build a quality, relevant authority backlink and Web2.0 links, submit some videos. Maintain your website well. Just you can slap the humming bird away.

  • Getting high quality backlinks is the only way to get your site ranking higher. The SEO company you hired is probably building low quality links. Someone said that building 1 pr 8 link a month would be substantial and I agree. If you building 200 links a month that is not good and does not look natural to Google. Hire an article writing service that will post your articles to high pr article marketing sites. Content is the new SEO anyway
  • I think you badly need to stop doing a transaction with them. The truth is you can even gather 200 backlinks a week if you are dead serious about your business. Anyway, try using other SEO strategies that will help you boost the ranking of your website. I hope this would be helpful to you.

    • Get links? Obtain links? Whatever you call it, link building is still an important and essential part of SEO as most links won't come naturally, no matter how good your content. But what you won't want to do is spam links and that's where webmasters and bloggers get in trouble, not legitimately obtaining useful backlinks from high quality sites.

  • The actual fact is Quality is more important than quantity!
  • Ranking depends on the quality of your backlinks not quantity.No matter how much backlinks you are making in a month but if your backlink are coming from spammy or low PR website then it will not provide much benefit to you.

    • Many people claim to be SEO experts online and promise these high page rank backlinks but usually only provide spam comments back from edu/.gov sites. These comments are usually deleted the next time the moderator gets online to check the blog. Then the value of that backlink is gone.

    How do you expect a list of crapping backlinks from junk sites to do you any good.

    Your next plan will be to increase the number of crappy backlinks but that will only do more harm than good.

    I suggest you withdraw from that SEO contract at once and retrace your step.
