Started Getting Google Traffic After Just 3 Days?

Hello!

I have not been much Into IM the past 6 or so months due to moving, family, etc,.

Decided I would just set a little site up and see If I still "got It". Three days ago I set my site up, and just on the 2nd day I started to receive relevant traffic. The 3rd day (today), I have had about 160 visitors, with about 4 page views per person.

The odd thing Is, I have not done any offsite SEO, only onsite SEO, and the site Isn't even anywhere close to where I wanted It before any of the public started viewing. Also, by relevant traffic, I mean they searched the keywords I have targeted In google, found my site, and It already has facebook likes, and some tweets.

Has anything changed In the past few months SEO wise, Is this just a freak of nature type thing, or have I done something pretty damn good?

The niche Is gaming by the way, and the keywords pretty competitive which Is why am surprised. I decided to actually create something about an actual hobby of mine this time :p Makes writing content so much easier.

Thanks for any answers, and filling me In.

  • And this is a prime example of why I don't put much focus on off-page SEO.

There have been a few changes lately, Penguin 2.1 effecting certain types of backlinks and also the Hummingbird update which had an effect on the way search results are returned. The latter of those 2 may be playing a part in your traffic.

You could also just be doing the Google dance

If the keyword is competitive & since the site is new, your page will probably drop in the SERPs in a few days If your not doing any (quality) SEO.

    • SEO will continue to be done onsite, maybe some offsite. I have facebook likes, tweets to my pages, and a couple other sites have quoted my content, providing links back to my site from theirs. Usually I have had my content "stolen", so that was nice to see.

I am Interested on how this will play out, but will not get my hopes too high. I still need to create more content, which Is what I was focused on before I wanted visitors, and what I'm focused on now.

  • I think that what you did was good, but you should not depend on it forever. Don’t get me wrong but you should maintain the connection that you have with your page viewers. Come up with catchier content. Well, just by having gaming as your niche, you would no longer have problems making interesting ones.
  • Happened to me, but not in a new site. All sites i didn't build back-links for and just concentrated on content jumped to first page.
  • One thing you should've done was get a domain name from a godaddy auction that already has high page rank so you won't have a problem with SEO. There are some with a PR of 4-6 that you can get for $20.you can either keep the name or sell it on flippa for minimum of $2,000 for fast cash so you can use that $2,000 for PPC advertising. one program I recommend is very important for high PR and especially if your a beginner. It's hard to get consistent and huge flows of traffic with just SEO alone, it usually requires multiple streams of traffic in order to get huge results.

I'm writing an article right now about different tools you can use to get traffic fast and mostly within 24 hours.message me when you want to know about the sites.
