Lets say I have a site called recipes.com. And on that site I have a page for a chicken burrito recipe. How do I go about getting that chicken burrito page ranked in a search engine? SO when someone googles chicken burrito recipe, they will see recipes.com/chicken_burrito. Rather than just recipes.com

Any help would be appreciated

Simply put keyword "hicken burrito recipe" into tittle of that PAGE (recipes.com/chicken_burrito) . Add this keyword into meta description and meta keywords too.

I would use chicken-burrito and don't use the underscore, the search engines don't like underscores, and they read hyphens just like spaces. Also you could try and get some links pointing to that subpage on other recipe sites.

Thanks for the replies, Good to know it's not as hard as I was making it out to be.
And thanks for that 'hyphen' tip PRO, that's good to know.

I read that it's good to have Google crawl your site to speed up the process of being recognized in the search engine. Would I need to do that for each page, or just the entire site as a whole?

I learned that luckily a long time ago before I started building our website, works wonders. Same with META Titles and descriptions.

You need to have quality back-links built pointing to your website, also you need to submit sitemap as well.

Look at the top 10 pages in the SERPs for the search "chicken burrito recipes" and see how their pages are structured. What content do they have? What different types of media? Are they using semantic markup? etc.

Side note: use hyphens instead of underscores in your URLs.
