My site took a hit!!

This Penquin 2.1 update just killed my party bus (business) website. My homepage went from page 1 to lost. I found one of my pages on page 8, but it's not my home.

I'm now forced to triple my Ad-Word budget so I can be on page 1 or 2 to compete . I'm no SEO guy and just looking for some advice to get back on page 1.....

    Get out there and put out your business cards, build a rapport with all the places that you used to pick people up from. Contact your customers and put on a deal, ask them to shout out about you to their friends, families other businesses.

    Forget the old and put up a new website. Go easier on the off-page, this time.

      I do heavy local promoting.....but the website hit's are 80% of my biz

        There's no easy way out of penguin unless you want to do a lot of link take-downs and off-page de-optimisation that will take hours of work. If you are SURE that it's penguin 2.1 that dropped your site, then just rebuild your site from scratch. It'll be easier and quicker. I'm not going to be the one that claims that Penguin 2.1 is to blame - I'm assuming from your title first post that this is what happened - this is what you said.

        If this is the case, build from scratch fast. Only get links from previous customers. Make that your mantra. Build up by word-of-mouth.

    Almost everybody hates it whenever the Penguin comes. If you would not persist, you would not really get the results that you are aiming for, so take their advice and get a new domain. Make investments again, choose a more interesting yet less competitive niche (or better yet, focus on a micro-niche) and study the latest figures.

      Before the penguin update did your Page ranked on its own OR was it ranking in the google places section?

      search for this in google: chicago limousine service

      and you will know what I am trying to ask. you'll see your website in google places list.

      I have a feeling that your website never really ranked on the google search result and it is not hit by penguin 2.1. What really happened is when you search for the keyword "party bus Chicago" google is not giving the google places result anymore and therefore your website is not there.

      However if you search for "party bus in chicago" your website is there.
      Again I think you are not hit by penguin update. But for some reason google stopped showing the google places result for your keywords.

        Your correct about the "GOOGLE PLACES" and on "CHICAGO LIMO SERVICE"....but why on LIMO and not on PARTY BUS????

    Hi,
    At first I suggest you, remove all low quality backlinks. If it is not possible then add those links to the Google Disavow list
    Check out site content- if it is duplicate then upload new fresh content
    Collect backlinks from relevant high quality (High PR and Domain Authority) niches
    Do social media for your site

    I have been deindexed and reindexed twice in six years, I would suggest hanging on a month before you make any decisions. The first time it happened to me everyone told me to start over also but I didn't, and things are OK these days.

    Mind you I was not practicing any grey or black hat, if you are, then maybe you do need to start over.
