Traffic has decreased by 90%

Hi all- I hope you can help- this time last week I was seeing pageviews of 225 per day- today & yesterday I am seeing...5...has something major happened?? The day before I had this huge decrease in traffic I had my biggest adsense earnings day with CTR rates of 15%- could it be related??

  Yep, Penguin 2.1. Google has been so unpredictable lately; my traffic has doubled due to this change however I am trying to diversify my traffic sources because you just never know what's coming next.

That sounds like a coincidence, to me, and/or possibly also caused partly by SERP's changes?

Does most of your traffic come from Google? If so, ranking changes will probably be the answer: there have been some recent/current algorithm changes affecting the SERP's, as so often happens.

You can perhaps learn more by investigating your rankings (but don't forget to clear your browser cookies and history first, or just use a different browser, otherwise where your site appears to rank for various keywords when you search, yourself, won't be what other people are seeing).

  MMMM malicious linking has gone on from what I've seen- I started getting an increasing number of visitors to the site from India & Pakistan over the last few weeks 7 having done a back link check last night, have found links to 404 pages, links to spammy sites about iphones...what a sh**ter- yes adsense was the only income on the site at the moment

I went from 800 plus to 80 a few months ago just after a Google Update. Am STILL trying to recover.
